I was tempted, but I don't want to buy more batteries just for this drill, and the future of the 12V line seemed uncertain from what I read. I think it'd be more tempting if it came with a couple of batteries and/or a higher capacity one.
That said, some of you can be pretty persuasive, and the day isn't over yet.

When I first saw this, I was ready to jump but then realized it's the 12v platform. I'll stick with the 20v versions.

Same here. I'm locked in on 20v & 20/60v flexvolt & don't want to add another battery type. Looks like a cool tool for someone who isn't already invested in a battery line.

I thought I felt the same way, I’m already in the 20v DeWalt line, but installation drivers are more about lightweight work and smaller profile. I don’t have the 20v version of this, but I do have the sister ship in the Craftsman range, the V20 RP screwdriver.
If you compare the size of these two, for my application, I’ll take the 12v version:
This is more in the range of the Bosch version of this tool:
I don’t need the power of the 20v unit and the bulkier size isn’t what I’m after.
I had $10 worth of Lowe’s cash and for $85 bucks with everything included (plus a nice case), I think it’s a great deal.
My first 12 volt dewalt. I’ll just add the charger to the charger pile with all the rest. I mostly got it for the offset driver attachment, which I didn’t have. I like 12 volt tools in general, and use them whenever I can get away with them. Very light weight and compact. They delivered this to my door three hours after I ordered it. Dangerously convenient. Worked well. Nice usable bag too.

I'm a 20/60V Dewalt / 12v Milwaukee guy. But I went with this Bosch a couple of years ago and liked it very much for the rare occasions I need to use the offset driver, etc.

That is one thing Dewalt did right. That 12v should be able to be charged on all their other chargers, but the 12v charger doesn't charge anything but 12v.

Right, that's another benefit, I can use my existing 20v charger for the 12v packs.

According to the marketing photos, the charger that came with the Dewalt 12V is compatible with both 12V/20V.

I've never seen that site before. I first noticed the jack at Home Depot for $108.29, with no indication of a sale price.
Those "RRP"s are just to present the illusion of savings, rather than "normal" prices. I haven't done any price comparisons. My comment was meant to suggest that I'd expect to see lower prices once the product has been on the market for longer.

My bad. Thanks for the link. I tend to spend too much time researching items before purchase, but I clearly didn't apply that same tendency before posting about these jacks. I noticed them when searching for jacks that could extend five or six feet higher — probably using the wrong terms.

They canceled my order, citing they were out of stock. The website shows they currently have 3 in stock.

I bought the 12-volt tools before the 20-volt tools were available, and they are still going strong as far as the batteries are concerned. The driver that takes the 1/4" bits has a problem with the trigger unless I use it a lot. I have had trigger problems with a number of my DeWalt tools in the past. Usually, if they have a problematic tool, they will reconfigure the tool and offer it with a new part number. My leaf blower is a prime example of this.

I once bought a cman grease gun on dotd, waited several days for my pickup email, and got a cancellation instead. Very frustrating.

Lowes could have one shipped to you at no additional cost. They should go out of their way to give you a reason to come back, and I hope they do.

Well, not good news.
Store Manager said it wasn't his call, the call came from Corporate and this could have been an issue with the wrong day posted on the website. The date on my screenshot above says "ends Aug 21" (tomorrow), so maybe we will see this come up tomorrow.
Regardless, he told me contact Lowes Corporate so with the help of @wire I have the contact info for them and will go down this road after I check the site tomorrow.

They seem to not know how to run their website as of recent. This garbage, along with the Bosch promo that all of a sudden went out of stock for everything for several days, to back again. I highly doubt you will ever talk to someone that really knows where their head & **** are properly located at Lowes.
This is a good two for one. I just bought the hedge trimmer a couple weeks ago at full price. Darn. It’s the first one I’ve used with the sweep attached to the bar. Works well.
