Yea that really looks great.
With the mini-me running around this lattice had become the highest priority. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for (structural lattice) so I went with a off the shelf trellis and modified to suit. I'd have gone with single uprights but was over ruled by my wife and my mom at the same time.
need to stay hydrated tonight it's humid out.
And because I'm a sucker for dewalt miter saws I grabbed a 714 on sale today. It's nice and light.

Awesome work especially when you are working around the family living there while you do it.
Looks like you might need to build some climbing walls or put holds on the side of your home for the little one. I agree nice position on that counter cabinet climb!!
Even though I probably could not do it anymore I almost picked up a Rogue fitness peg board that was similar to ones we used in high school gym. You could probably make one easy enough with your skills.

We have lots of lizards here, but apparently way more spiders. I have to de-web around the house every week or it gets ridiculous.

I’m not a huge fan of spiders especially if they get INSIDE our house but I love seeing them make webs in and around the trees, shrubs and in our tomatoes and plants. I hate flies and no see ums worse and mosquitoes but somehow a heard of dragon flies adopted us so way less of them now.
Not that I’m a spider trainer but years ago the new crop of spiders would build their webs across our paths. Since they make nice webs in a day I thought why not pull off one side and put them in bushes and trees next to paths and after a few times they learned and grew and thrived out of my way. No BS. Try it or not but just saying.
Jar your trellis and under deck living space you created is amazing and your bedroom and other work is something we don’t often see or even hear about.

I misread that. I thought you said my current wife. That would have gotten you yard duty. I’m pretty sure the finish carpentry on the kid’s playhouse would be outstanding.

We had a lot more Orb Weavers at the old house. I like having them around, and yes you can "train" them to not build in pathways. They are fascinating to watch. So meticulous.

Ugh - those are some major projects.
Replacing main stairs in an existing house is a real PIA. Unfortunately, I have had to do it on a couple occasions due to water damage.
Don't forget, Century Stairs is located in Haymarket close by. They provide many of our stairs for the day job and their work is top notch. If you need a POC there, I can PM you our rep. I have known him for 20+ years and he is outstanding.
A good family friend worked at Century for quite some time.
My plan is a vicrorian 3 lobe profile tangential rail with balusters to match (they shouldbe dovetailed into the treads). I'd really like to build a octagonal turned newl for the bottom of both stairs but that might be too victorian for my house.
If I can make it work with the existing stairs I'll keep them but they are not designed for a continuous rail so and thr mid landing is odd. I think i can make it work but it's a compromise though id prefer to keep them they are functionality fine, its just for the aesthetic.
