Yes the painters will prime it all first. Haven't locked anything in with them just yet, same goes for flooring. We'll see how my bank acct looks in the next couple weeks.

Drywall dust all cleaned up and final inside electrical work is complete. Just gotta wait now for the power company to do the final hookup. Could be another week or 2.

Meeting with the landscaper Sunday to see about having some gravel and top soil put down and going to get another stump ground down early in the week.

Power company came today to hook the line up...but left pretty quickly when the weather started turning bad. For the first time, we put our cars in the garage due to potential hail later today. I think you could fit 6 vehicles inside if they are all small/medium sedans/SUVs.

Also, found out the gutter downspouts werent screwed on in the middle of the downpour this morning lol. Popped it back on for now, but will get them both screwed in place.

We have light! Pretty decent brightness. Getting the walls painted I'm sure will help brighten it up even more. I'll tie the chains up higher after the painting is complete. They're on 2 switches, 4 front lights, 4 back lights...I think it would have made more sense for the left and right sides to be on their own switches...so if you're only working in one bay, you don't need every light on...but this is fine.

Garage doors are working, but one is re-opening when it closes. I adjusted the closing setting to a harder level, but it's still doing it...So, I'll get a garage door place in to take a look at it. I don't want to screw it up.
EDIT: Door is fixed now... Just had to adjust the actual closing setting and now it's fine.

Will call the HVAC guys tomorrow so they can get the mini splits installed. Oh and I got the quote back from the landscapers. $3k...which is pretty reasonable. Going to get them on the schedule... Not sure when paint and floors will be done. A little nervous to bite the bullet on the flooring.

Whatever you do don't put off the floor. I decided to wait to do mine... 28 years ago.

Edit to add: 28 years later it still isn't done, and is oil stained enough that I won't try.

Second that. Your motivation/inclination/ability/ to move all the stuff back out of the garage will drop so much that the probability of getting it done falls the longer you wait.

Mini splits are in!

Slight gap in the wall where the hoses/wiring came though...I'm surprised considering the drywallers made the openings perfect lol Oh well, I will caulk it up with paintable caulk.

I plan to really only run them to keep humidity down, especially mid-summer...Don't want mold growing everywhere.

Picked up this work truck last week. Trimming out the man door now and putting in a dead bolt. Plan to contact the flooring place soon and get on their schedule for early fall..Same with paint.

Still waiting on landscapers. Were supposed to come weeks ago... Still telling me mid-July.

Landscape work done. Got all the ruts from the builders filled in and graded around the building better, proper gravel, downspouts buried, and grass seed. $3550

Looks a bit goofy with the mix of paved/gravel. One day we'll get it paved...but it'll probably be years from now. Too expensive.

Flooring is slotted for mid August. Going to be 13k for 3 coats. Have to do a moisture barrier first because the moisture level is still too high. Will it go down over time? Maybe, but who knows. Going to be $13k total...Definitely more than I wanted to spend, but the contractor is super honest and has worked with me a lot on the right combination. Total opposite of the general contractor on this build.

My only concern is still the lack of rebar in the slab itself. One of the expansion joints is splitting pretty good, right at the door. About an 1/8th lift on one side. The rebar underneath only runs parallel to the joint, so nothing is holding the 2 chunks of slab together.

It's perfectly fine like this, but concerned it will keep getting worse and eventually the door will no longer seal and the $13k floor will be a mess in that area. No way to really know.

That wagon is awesome! I learned to drive in a 1980 Buick Century, looks like the same color, but obviously the full-size sled with the roof rack (and I presume a rear-facing seat?). Say more!

I would recommend trying to make the final push to get floors walls + ceilings coated. Money already being diverted to other projects and toys is a recipe for it to stay like that for years. I gave up in my shop and just moved everything in. The next owner someday can finish it although that's not ideal.

Have barely even looked at the car. Definitely needs an oil change. Taking it to get inspected Wed. Will try to get a better look at everything today or tomorrow. Not sure what I want to do with it yet. Probably be next year before I start anything if I want to swap out the drivetrain.

Otherwise, we wouldn't have had that many issues. The foundation/slab are still the only things I'm pissed about to this day. Hard to forget about, but I'm sure I will eventually.

Yea, and it was less than 4 hours away from me. The seller was acting a little funny at first though. A little slow to respond. When we finally spoke, he asked if I was really sure I wanted it...Offered to pay my buyer fee and keep the car because he said his kids were really attached. I

I don't blame him for asking...I'd probably have done the same lol So, I thought about it a few hours, but ultimately decided I wanted the car. Always wanted a wagon. I paid him $200 and he delivered it on a trailer to me. Also gave him a box Crumbl Cookies since the delivery went really smooth.

The car is far from perfect..but an honest survivor with a cheapo repaint.

No real specific plans other than I'd like to have a 2 post lift. My attached garage already is loaded with cabinets, tools, benches... Maybe I'll put in a tool chest, few cabinets, and build a few work benches eventually. Might also add a wood stove or pellet stove for fun.
