Resist the urge to track him down!
I had the same experience several years ago, truck was around a couple years, sold some tools locally and then vanished. Called him up about a 3/8 ratchet kit, see when he would be back, told me he wouldn't be back and that they were out of stock. Cornwell is dead to me.
MAC guy did the same thing, but at least way back at that time MAC would send you a kit or warranty a tool through the mail.

My Mac guy retired, I've been real impressed with sending stuff in for them to warranty it.Costs me a bit to ship it, but they send it back very quickly by ups. Very happy with them.
Wow, I haven't seen a Cornwell truck in my area in well over ten years- I actually remember exactly where I last saw one, and I can't remember what I had for dinner three days ago 
. Strangely, I see Matco more than Snap On here, I think there are two Matco trucks in the area. There is/was also a Mac truck, and a Gearwrench truck, but I haven't seen either in a while.

I'm one one every week. It just so happens that I'm wearing a Cornwell T-shirt and hat as I type this.
They have a few things that no one else offers yet.
I like their 80 tooth ratchets which are very Matco-ish if not the same. I've not had a chance to open my CW 80T to check yet if they are the same.
