So my first tpu print came out well, no problems printing after i got started. However … removing the support trees was a real ******, they were stuck pretty good.

Layer adhesion on tpu is amazing.

I have had good success with 3 top interface layers and rectilinear for the pattern

I normally use pla for the interface with petg prints and it comes apart cleanly. Not an option here. I will try those settings.

Anybody want to share images of their printer workspace? Mine has just been sitting on the floor in my office since I bought it about 2 months ago. A shelf system from curbside bedframes should be installed Monday or Tuesday though. Printer (P2S) and AMS will be on the top shelf. Lower shelves will hold filament in cereal boxes.

What is the over/under on how long I can stay at <= 12 open spools of filament?

Since replacing the H2C's AP board, I have ~80 hours of print time and all seems to be back to normal. It may be just me but it seems like the printer is slightly faster. Don't know how to describe it other than it seems "smoother" too, meaning the head movements seem to be less "jerky". It has all the same firmware the original had so either my imagination or something in the new board.

Just thought I would report back on my experience since replacing the board.

I think I shared mine earlier in the thread but too lazy to go find it. This is my setup for the H2C, the X1C sat on top of a two drawer filing cabinet with a wire rack next to it full of ****.

Part of my homelab making a cameo in the first picture

I'm pretty sure I shared this photo before... I think even in this thread, but here's my current setup.

Resizer_16841003094291.jpg

Bondtech is now selling their DEV kits for their INDX design. Looks like it would be < $500 for me to add 4 nozzles to my printer. I'm waiting for a few more of the Prusa One reviews with this on them before I decide to purchase it. If I do add it, I plan on redesigning the drawer setup on my printer stand. I'd want to have 2 of the driers and hard plumb them up to the nozzles in the top of the machine. I'd also need to have a larger lid. It shouldn't be too difficult to make it all work.

Need help please. Bambu a1 and MakerLab. Creating a series of nametags for a girls basketball team, to clip on their backpack or gym bags. So i have created the tags with the girls names and then clicked file - save as - and saved as a 3mf. But when i go to open them, nothing come up. The slicer is ignoring all the individual information. I want to put 6-8 tags on the plate and print the batch.
.
Alternate … is there a better program to use to create the tags?

What is a decent scan app for android or iPhone. I would like to scan a couple of mine and my daughters deer heads and have mini heads made. Was hoping to get her one of hers for her birthday in September. I've tried a few apps but they dont seem to scan right

What'd you create the files in? I had great luck finding a tag on maker world and applying text in bambu studio.

Ok. So how do i populate multiple build plates?

I can get multiple items on a plate, but they are all the same, i can’t get different items to load at the same time.

Ha! I told you wrong - looks like you can't copy and paste. My apologies.

You can insert multiple .3mf files into one build plate.

try using stl instead of 3mf. I think 3mf can store full-build plate information and can confuse some slicers. STLs would be just the model. Then when you go to place/open your file, just select more than one STL at the same time. The slicer will either move them around to fit, or try to put all of them in the middle of the plate. You may have to click 'arrange->auto-arange' so they all fit. Not sure about your specific slicer, but that's a general workflow.

I've printed about 150 hours so far on my new Bambu X2D.
This is an awesome printer and has a ton of capability, I'm still learning the ropes but it's not too hard to get up to speed.
For anyone considering buying one of these, you should be prepared to order a few accessories at the same time - such as the power adapter for the AMS 2. Without that, you'll be unable to dry while printing.
I'd also get some HEPA filters if you'll be printing with it inside your house.
If you're going to be using engineering filaments I'd pick up a smooth plate, glue, and probably a good dryer (AMS 2 only goes up to 65* C). I need to decide on a dryer and go for it because drying inside the printer is slow...and prevents you from printing anything.

I've been printing a bunch of functional prototype small parts for work, and interspersed with that I've been printing Tool Grid for my toolbox at home. The accuracy of these printers is unbelievable - I was able to get an edge to edge snug fit across a 42" width drawer. When I snapped my final piece of Tool Grid into place everything is locked down with zero movement on the base plates. Now to decide on socket and ratchet holder styles...

I made my own shelf right after buying my first 3D printer last year. I did so because I couldn't find anything "sturdy" enough at a price point I wanted to pay after hearing about how crazy printers rock back and forth.

Things have changed since this pic but I still have that P1S.

Lots of cool stands out there but again, they can get pricey. Mine was under $100 total.

Thanks for sharing, I'm ordering a X2D in the near future and having no experience was wondering what else I should get when I order it.

The things I got:
  • spare plate
  • nippers
  • razor blade scraper
  • containers for filament
  • desiccant beads
  • heater (or the sep power adapter for AMS heating)
  • and lots more filament than you would guess

Here's what I've bought / printed that's worked well for me so far:

Purchased:

Printed:

I would also recommend a few different plates, such as a cool plate or PEI smooth plate depending on what you're printing. The PEI texture works reliably but I don't love the texture.
Glue for smooth plates

Thanks for that list and the links, I will look into them all. I wanted to get whatever I may need when I buy the printer. I like to just get whatever I may need, within reason, right away so I don't find something I want to print and then not be able to and have to wait for an order to come. But it was hard when I don't know anything about 3D printing, so your list really helps a lot.
