Making a thread here after figuring out my electrical woes here https://www.garagejournal.com/forum...n-panel-detached-garage.559911/#post-11743637.

I'm doing more electrical work and part of that is running wire for the lift and I'm having a hard time deciding layout. The garage is mainly going to be a large 1 car workshop but at the same time it would be nice to park a second car in there (charge an ev) if possible.

Been playing around with this mockup in the obsessed garage swisstrax designer. In reality i have a 18 foot wide door and the driveway is slightly left of center.

First world design problems.

I would go with design one. My S4 avant has been up on a lift for so long the area under it has become workspace

If you go with number 1, and you acquire a different vehicle such as a pickup that is over 20' long, you might have trouble getting the vehicle in and out with that arrangement. Consider your age, family size, and potential future vehicle needs.

Yeah I'm pretty much set on design 2. I did swap the sides though. Think it would be nicer to not potentially walk into the side door right into a car on a lift and also have the window. The utility sink is already in place on the right. Thinking of putting a pressure washer to its right.
