I don’t disagree, the pawl that I changed seems to wear out quite regularly. I’m happy though as long as the saw itself continues to operate. It only takes a couple minutes to change it, 4 screws and the wire retainer, around 5.00 for the pawl. Could be worse

Cut a piece of 1/2" conduit to support the front of the trans on the Smashed Truck

Combined tackle boxes into one in order to get the space down to a dull roar. Dug out MT1 drill chuck to go with new to me vintage lathe. Reorganized stuff to put for sale online as previous sales had gotten it spread around. Reorganized packing supplies.

Got the car back up on cribbing. Removed the 90* adapter from the speedometer cable. Reversed the gear set so it will spin the other way. Reinstalled the 90* adapter.
The cable routing isn’t quite as nice now, but it’s away from the exhaust.
Head cold is getting better, but the pressure change was messing with my inner ear so that every lie down / stand up was causing some dizziness. Decided that I didn’t need to hurt myself and shut down the garage to get some more rest.

Not in the garage, but rather now leaning against the garage.
A good friend dropped by and his much younger, stronger nephew joined him later. At my friend’s behest, they happily moved my 4” thick black granite surface plate from the house to the garage. Or rather garage adjacent.
As useful as it can be, for me not so much any more. Call it part of the purge of stuff accumulated over a lifetime.
So it’s leaning against the side of the garage, free for any GJ member. I did put a post in the classifieds. If nobody wants it, I’ll put something on cl or ?

I should. And, I would, if I had thought to note which contacts I used out of those kits.
I also revived a coupla bicycle lights using the kits. Gonna be useful having those assortments in my inventory for future use.

Removed heat shield, and sound deadening from the Smashed Truck cab. The more I look at this cab the more I realize it really is junk. Had a buddy ask why I didn't just cut the roof off, and replace it LOL the whole damn thing is tweaked including the doors. It's scrap metal at this point, and will be cut up/disposed of as such.

And the fun continuesToday in the garage, a rhd mk1 Aygo blower motor getting replaced
So much fun
Turns out the blower motors are different for the LHD and RHD Aygo models..... sigh
Option 1 - Pull that ******** apart again and fit a RHD blower.
Option 2 - Reverse polarity on the now fitted owner supplied LHD blower.
Solder will be flowing tmrw morning!

Got the Escape back inside. Figured out how to retract the electric ebrake. New pads n rotors. Serviced n lubed everything. Got everything back together. Put the Dingo n Burg back in the garage. Gonna be cleaning for a while
Thankfully, it appears the fires around the PNW are mostly under control, of not completely out. One my local fire dept buddies said that our local fires are now under local control rather than the Feds. Here in Walla Walla the air is really clean!

Fed 3 cutting boards through the planner and router, final glue up on the table and a peek at the new boat seats. Of course Fedex somehow split the shipment up, this is 1 seat of 4, and 1 box of 2. I think I got the seats right, I over analyzed the colors and seat designs a bunch. This seat design is basically 4 generations newer than the boat. New fabric ("STX" not vinyl),colors, design and stitching... impatiently waiting for the rest of it. I'm an easy victim for some diamond stitching with contrasting colors.

Yep. Other than the rain and snow, it's been right pleasant around here. I am ready for First Nations Summer, 'though.
My shifter on the Brick has been getting worse after I got it all adjusted a few weeks back. I decided to do something about it today--hey, it's just a fifteen-minute job, after all.
Three hours later... I managed to get it pretty well screwed up and finally got it unscrewed after a half-dozen iterations. For a while, I had no 2nd or 4th and no detente on reverse--not good.
Working fine again.
Glad I did check on it. The clamp holding the two parts of the shifter rod together had come loose (like I never got it tight enough to begin with) and the shift rod was about to come apart at the seams--not good on the trail, as the rear half would hang down far enough to hit the ground, with nasty consequences! I can see having to get under and shift into second or third by hand, then drive however far I was from home in that gear alone. Been there, done that and it's not fun.
In fact, thinking back on it, if that shift rod came undone and hit the ground while driving, it would probably destroy the transaxle I just spent $6K getting rebuilt.
Hoping to get out for a drive tomorrow.

Tidied up the garage some more, sorted some containers of assorted hardware, consumables etc. Moved the lift toward the front and have enough room to store the Seadoos.

In the GJ tradition you need a brad nailer (air or battery powered).
BTW I messed up a couple of air nailer hits by being too close to the edge and/or the nail following the gain.

I just got an 8N running and updated and down the road for an 86 yo friend. He was so appreciative that I’m now in his will.
Then had a chance to hang some soffit at the back of the shop.
But I can’t get the manlift any farther away due to all the **** in the way. So this week’s quandary is to either rent a different manlift or to move a ton of plywood and two tons of steel out of the way for the manlift I already own. Wife says RENT. My back also says RENT. But I will probably move it all. Stay tuned!

My Amazon replacement for the wiper arm I put away and can't find arrived. Reinstalled the cowl cover and wipers so now the Suburban Assualt vehicle aka the Punishment truck is ready to drive in the rain. I called the punishment truck because it's your mode transport until what you broke is fixed.

I found this link that explains the sequence to retract the electric emergency brake and later reset it.

Mine were sorted, I just went through them and tossed on the bench. . I saved a handful and ziptied or velcro them. Many of these were parallel and series connections from printers, monitors, some old direct TV chords and some random 12v chargers.

Cut up and recycled all the cardboard from the IKEA cabinet install......
We have had so much rain this summer I went for weeks not opening storage shelter/farm shop door to turn on well pump for garden irrigation. About 2 months ago I did so and found we had a pair of pigeons inside that were making a hell of a mess. Opened the door all of the way and chased them out (I thought). I don't - or didn't - know enough about pigeons, so a couple weeks later opened the door to a huge mess. Climbed all over and found a gap a corner where they had built a nest - that I destroyed....I thought. Again went in and damned if they weren't still inside! Tried everything to scare them out but if I went one way they just went to opposite side or corner. Brought my trusty old airsoft out and lobbed a lot of 25 gram BBs at them but it is an old thing with no loader and a tiny mag, so 7 shots hand inserted and fired took at least 5 minutes. Can't use my air rifle as this is a tensioned fabric structure and it would blow holes an airsoft won't. I could only score a direct hit maybe one in 10 shots as the birds stayed 10 meters away and these are point and shoot devices, not really aimable. Pretty much watch the BB and adjust next shot to correct. Then the mag fell 10' and smashed so now up the creek - found the birds returned to the small pile of twigs left over from me destroying the nest and laid 2 eggs...IN SEPTEMBER???? Besty told me only real way to win was kill them, but inside a fabric structure not that easy. Decided to try more airsoft scare so headed to Cabellas and bought a Mauser rated at 400 FPS and returned. Was going to get grandson to act as bird dog to flush them, but thought I had better try a dry run to see how things might unfold. Unlike the old gun, this thing had enough muzzle velocity I could seldom actually see the BB. When I shot at the birds instead of just scaring them it actually injured them, so now no choice but to finished them off. Landing shots on head did the job, and the 18 shot mag with loader gave enough chance to zero in. Felt sorry for them but now have weeks of work to clean up the unbelievable mess.
Back in home shop: got bottom side of deck framework painted. Buddy talked me into putting a screen over back window gap in headache rack, and that took about 2 hours to paint with a brush!! Will turn it right side up this morning and weld out screen and a pair of dropside latch tabs. Paint will follow and put floor boards on tomorrow.

Hopefully putting new aluminum rims on my quad trailer/camping hideout spot.
Then removing the folddown bed from said trailer in preps of pink insulation and barnwood wall board. Then start the plan for where dual spare tires and shelving unit will be stationed out.
now I will be able to put camping **** back into the camper and trailer and get more room back in the garage.
