Neglected century barn is becoming my workshop and garage

That's a stuck bolt with some weld metal on it to rapidly heat it and try to shock it loose. Everything is looking great as always! Love your shop. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

    Minor sheldon lathe clean up

I can't speak for everyone, but I know what I'm seeing. It's not a step by step how-to, just some ******** machine-****![emoji14] Besides, a picture is worth 1000 words, right? Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

Re: Minor sheldon lathe clean up ( Picture Heavy ) Oct 20,2015 start I "liked" your Facebook page, and then had to control myself to keep from "liking" every damn post you ever made![emoji14]You do beautiful work! Have you done a shop tour at all? I'd be interested in seeing one. How many VFD's...

    Minor sheldon lathe clean up

WOW, that is a damn nice job! I'm now going to check out your Covel thread too! I'd love to go to this extent on my little Rockwell 11" lathe some day, for now it's been torn down into it's sub-assemblies, washed, and will be going back together with new belts, etc. The full tear-down and paint...

    rockwell knee mill

I can tell you that my little 11" Rockwell lathe is built to last, so I'm sure the mills aren't too shabby either. I've never seen one in person though, so I can't say for sure. Take pictures!!

    Cleveland Tool & Die Co.

If you went to a place that grinds tools it would take nothing for them to make you some new blades. Ask a machinist you know if there's a place around you that sharpens end-mills or custom grinds carbides. It would be worth asking them for a price at least.

My Dad Dropped This Off Today

That might be a Brown & Sharp thread, it was a 29 degree included angle, so it would put those 12 degree angles closer to 14.5. With wear and old loose tolerances for making a vise (not exactly a lathe lead-screw, a little slop wouldn't hurt) maybe that's what they were shooting for back in the...

    Garage + Tools = Freeloaders?

I'm not a motorcycle mechanic, but I work on motorcycles and spent many years working on bicycles, especially high-end mountain bikes -hydraulic brakes). So a buddy I worked with at the time was an apprentice motorcycle mechanic (I was in sales) and he got a side job putting ape hangers on a...

    Post Recession Shop Rehabilitation Project

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear that, Chris. I have two dogs and I love them like crazy, I can't imagine how tough it would be to have them abruptly taken away like that. Is the neighbor kid okay? Must have been pretty traumatic. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

    36x36 Barn Plus 60x40 Shop

Alright, all caught up! (Slow at work) sorry to hear about your dad, mtech. But congratulations, on the new broom-operator! I wish my lathe had the ability to take collets. Looking forward to seeing more of your machining and fab work, the benches and bolt-handle look great! Sent from my B15...

    Post Recession Shop Rehabilitation Project

When I was doing my electrical to have my power sent through the garage then underground to the house I had some similar experiences. Mine was at least different inspectors, but everyone had their own interpretation of the code. Talk about frustrating. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
