High pressure needle valves with a check valve - allows controlled flow one way and full flow in the other direction. Often used to control the descent of a cylinder which is holding up a load, without restricting inflow. Flow would be from A to B according to the drawing. Test by blowing air...

    Welding in patch panels

It's an experiment in process. Play with the variables until you're happy with the result. Run the search "welding undercut" through Google and you can see the images.

Avoiding undercut will be a balance between reducing power, increasing wire speed, or reducing the speed of travel. Basically speaking there is insufficient filler being melted into the weld for the heat being introduced.

Columns are aligned and level. I greased the sliders. Like I said, the only way for it to collapse is losing the fluid. It would have to be a major leak. PM me your details. Thanks Dave

Sorry about the error Alex. I've had mine for 2 years and the only complaint is that sometimes I've had to shake the car to release the lift from its maximum height. The first time I lifted a car to the maximum when I went to lower the car only one piston was lowering. That freaked me out. It...

Are you self employed? Would you like go into business for yourself?

THIS IS NOT AN AD. Think of it as a friendly tip from one Garage Journal member to another... There's lots of people who are thinking it's time to do something they can call their own. Home made powder coat oven (DIY)

It was part of my research for the powder coat oven. Great idea to use ready made construction studs to create the cabinet of any required size needed. If required I'll use this idea for a custom sized oven in the future. Thanks for the post. Dave

No, he hasn't baked anything yet. He's got other projects on the go before the colder weather comes. I will update when a...

Home made powder coat oven (DIY)

I spent a good part of this summer helping my brother build a DIY home made powder coat oven. The best candidate for an enclosure was a 1970's circa freezer because of its design attributes. 1. Steel construction 2. Fiberglass insulation 3. Almost free ($60) I posted the pictures in my album...
