What is the best diagnostic scanner to buy?

I got a chance to use a launch (matco) for a couple weeks and I liked it better than the snap on verus I was using at the time. If I was going to buy one I would look at launch first.

    benefits of standard combo wrenches?

This makes sense and puts it into perspective....I have had a ratcheting screwdriver for probably a year and I don't think I've used it once. Never even think about it.

    benefits of standard combo wrenches?

90% of the time I work on light duty diesel trucks with some big stuff and some small stuff thrown in. Clearly I'd prefer an impact or a ratchet but sometimes those don't fit. Just today I used a 15mm on the nuts holding the exhaust on the manifold on an escalade. Ratchet wouldn't fit. I'd...

    benefits of standard combo wrenches?

The lack of ratchet wrench use on this forum blows my mind. I use them daily.

What do you want in a toolbox?

For me it would have to be snap on quality with snap on warranty for well under snap on price. Honestly I don't think you could make a snap on quality box at a price that would be enticing. And without a low price it would be hard to put a lot of trust in a brand new name. I like to "know" I'm...

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

House definitely isn't paid off. I wish! So don't give me too much credit. Adding to what you said, I do see a lot of guys my age that don't understand the "work hard and earn what they have" part. And I think that's the mentality that leads to repossessed tool boxes (and other things).

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

I'm 23 years old and I have a krl1022 and an 84" epiq. I've only been a mechanic for less than 2 years. I also own a house and have 2 trucks that are paid for. Some "young guys" can actually manage money. If you're able to, I think buying a big high quality box right off the bat is the way to...

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

I don't know about other brands but I know snap on's sep program has one limit for tools and a separate limit for tool storage. Lots of misinformation about that stuff on this forum.

11/32 is somewhat common on starter solenoid nuts.

Test light with positive and negative clamps

Then you can't test for power. ....I see what I did there. Whoops

Test light with positive and negative clamps

I'd imagine the positive clamp would be so you can use the probe to test for ground.

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

My snap on boxes were worth every penny to me...just because I wanted them.

GearWrench Oil Drain Plug Socket Set

The ratchet is useless. Not long enough to loosen most drain plugs. The sockets are great. They make it easy to spin the plug off by hand and help tremendously with not dropping it. Plus you don't have to get all your normal sockets covered in oil

    SK or Snapon

Sk makes some great stuff. I use their sockets daily. The only problem with sk is they are not snap on.

    Snappy truck or online purchase?

When I first started buying off of my snap on guy he wanted full retail for stuff. I told him if I wanted to pay full retail I'd order online. He started doing me right and in 8 months I've spent $14k with him. Tomorrow I start a new job that's not in his territory and he told me the driver...
