    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

I'll answer my own question here for anyone who may find this thread through google or just searching the forum. The hole in the side of the check valve is for your unloader valve. You should run a compression fitting from this hole to your pressure switch. This will relieve the air in the...

    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

I bought my new check valve and safety valves. One thing that has me stumped is the hole in the side of the check valve. What is this for exactly? Can I just plug it? My check valve looks just like this one

    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

Thanks for this. I actually found out just that after calling a parts shop earlier today. I decided on a 200PSI valve. I'll double check it's CFM rating. My new tank is an 80gal upright Ingersoll Rand Pro. Not a bad find for $100 imo.

    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

I'm not sure how much oil is leaving the compressor. The sight glass is at the full line, so it may be a very small amount. It does not seem to be consuming much oil at all. My concern was that I'm using this to paint, but I will invest in a quality oil/water seperator and hopefully not have to...

    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

The line goes directly to the head, there is no valve in the path. I already took it apart. The cylinders looked good and the head has reed valves, which were all intact and in good condition. The valve that blew is in picture #2. The air was coming from the bolt with the two holes in it. This...

    2 Stage Air Compressor Help

Hey All, I took apart my compressor today because I found a concernable amount of oil leaving one of the cylinders. The compressor looks to be recently rebuilt, cylinder walls look damn near new and the pistons are nice and shiny. Reed valves look to be in good condition, so now i'm wondering if...

    Paint Booth - Semi-Permanent - Seeking Advice

Sberry - I've read that in the past but forgot about the turbulence theory and paint cloud formation. That's the problem with the internet, there's so much conflicting information and professionals seldom provide advice. Following what that article says, it's best to have more existing air than...

    Paint Booth - Semi-Permanent - Seeking Advice

Thinking more about this, theres no reason I have to sand in a booth. I could just move the booth across the garage, and fold up the plastic sides to the ceiling, so its like a canopy. Then I would be sanding on the far side of the garage, where i could lay down a drop plastic dividing the...

Not at that cost! It doesnt look too different from a home made pvc booth, other than the massive filtration and easier collapsibility.

    Paint Booth - Semi-Permanent - Seeking Advice

I don't have the room to build an additional booth in the garage for sanding, and outside is not an option. Is there some kind of material that I can line the booth with that can be hosed clean before painting? Another issue though is that the material has to be transparent because the lights...

    3-Car-Garage to Paint Booth Design

Is it the general consensus here that I am going to need a tube heater for 24/7 heating and a drawl through furnace for heating the booth and for running when the exhaust fans are on? Is the furnace going to be required to get the booth to 60? I'd like to find a solution that can run 24/7...

    3-Car-Garage to Paint Booth Design

Arrowhead - The primary reason for buying this property is the garage. It's what sold the property. The 2 car garage will be my work shop. Where I do my engine building, welding, motorcycles, that kind of stuff. The 1 car that is attached to it I want to function as a body work/paint booth. My...

Squirrel Cage Fan as a Paint Booth Exhaust?

I've been looking into setting up my body shop also. What you're looking for are called "Paint Arrestors" in the biz. They are 98% efficiency, paint collecting exhaust filters.

    3-Car-Garage to Paint Booth Design

Arrowhead - I just called my city's building department. They said as long as I don't get over spray on neighbor's property and follow the city's noise ordinance, I should be okay to paint my own cars in my garage. I believe I can control the first through filtering and second through...

    3-Car-Garage to Paint Booth Design

Arrowhead - So you're suggesting a combination of a furnace and a tube heater? The tube heater I feel is a must to keep the garage warm throughout the winter. I want to keep it at a stable temperature. I agree that it's probably pushing it but I don't see any other good alternatives. The home is...
