    More missing tools

I feel your pain. Two of my last five Ebay purchases have arrived this way. I'm discussing it with one seller, and have to contact the other, whose shipment just arrived today...sort of. I will probably have to go through the Ebay process. I feel sorry for the sellers. However, both...

So...who was STW? I have one marked STW which I assumed was Stewart Walden. But I have another just marked SW...also Stewart Walden? I would have to search for a while to locate them, so please excuse the lack of pics. Best regards,

I am hoping to find the following four SnapOn sockets in 1/4" drive: 3/16" 7/32" 1/4" 11/32" Six point preferred, but 12 point is fine. I would really like to get them all from one source to minimize shipping costs. Thank you in advance.

    through socket sets

Lowell makes similar specialty ratchets. Here is a link: http://www.lowellcorp.com/applications.html For light duty applications (which probably includes most automotive uses), the comment by stick figure is probably correct - a ratchet wrench will probably work as well. But for heavy...

    eBay/Paypal Advice Requested

Paypal sez seller cannot accept payments at new email address. Awaiting the seller's response. Changing email addresses can be a real pain, and I'm willing to accept that as an explanation. Has anyone ever done that through eBay/Paypal? Cheers,

1950s Snap on M-70M Parts still Available??

How About A 71-15 Rebuild Kit? Apologies for diverting from the 1/4" drive topic, but can anyone tell me the right rebuild kit for a 71-15 1/2" Snapon ratchet? A search did not find 71-15, apologies if the answer is already out there somewhere. Best regards, Hank Murphy

    eBay/Paypal Advice Requested

I recently won an auction (250626647752) for a 14mm wrench. Price and shipping were reasonable. Seller sent me a message asking me to cancel the payment and send a payment through Paypal, but outside the eBay auction payment method, to a different email address. I cancelled the...

What Is An 11MM Used For?

The commonly used sizes from Japanese vehicles are 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19 in my experience. 13MM and 18MM are used on Fords, at least on some of the accessories I've installed. The 'most useless tool' thread listed several uses for 16MM (2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Caliper Bracket Bolt. 2000 Ford...

What is the most $$$$ you spent on a used set of tools?

Was this the one in Simi Valley? In response to the original question, about $100 is my limit unless I can take a complete inventory. But that is not often feasible for estate sales, so I just guess. Cheers, Hank Murphy Have to think of some snappy signature line someday...

Fellow GJ members, put on your thinking caps...I could use your advice...

I'd just get the business cards -- that helps with the personal pitches. There are lots of people who are doing the bare minimum to keep their cars going. The demand is there. I think the suggestion of doing work for people you know through school is a good one. Good luck!

Best used circular saw to look for?

The Skil 77 family is best for framing and general construction IMHO. I would not go back to a sidewinder style. If you do this for a living, a Mag 77 is probably better. If you do a lot of sawing in the rafters, a Skil 677 (6-1/2 inch blade) may be a good choice. The basic 77 is heavy. It...
