Concrete one sided pour issue. We tried today on a 4 foot wall and had vertical lift lost $700 in concrete

Success!! I appreciate the help guys! Esecially concretin. I followed your advice and shoed the bottom and added bracing as you described. We put up walens and strong-backs! I learned a lot from this pour. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. But it is done and no blow outs!

Concrete one sided pour issue. We tried today on a 4 foot wall and had vertical lift lost $700 in concrete

So it's all cleaned out now. I think I have a plan. 1. anchor the bottom plate with concrete anchors 4 per side. 2. I can add a 2 x 6 across the entire bottom. 3. cross brace the bottom 4. order a mixture that is not as watery as the previous mix. (What slump should I specify?) 5. Pour...

Concrete one sided pour issue. We tried today on a 4 foot wall and had vertical lift lost $700 in concrete

I am by no means a concrete expert. I have done a few pours, but only one other one side. It looks like it started to push out on the bottom and then lift the form up.

Concrete one sided pour issue. We tried today on a 4 foot wall and had vertical lift lost $700 in concrete

What if I do a partial pour wait two hours and do the top? I am going to add more bracing and lateral bottom supports but that will allow the bottom to solidify a little first.

Concrete one sided pour issue. We tried today on a 4 foot wall and had vertical lift lost $700 in concrete

I wanted to add. There is also a 2 x 2 x .25 angle steel welded around the entire perimeter of the top of the form. You can see one side lying on the ground with the welded on nuts and j hooks. That is bolted to the outside edge of the wall with 1/4 bolts through the plywood. At this point I...

    Fancy laser welding

I have welded stainless exhausts with my laser welder. It does a fantastic job but it has limitations. The pieces need to have "ZERO" gap and be really clean. If that is done the welds are very nice. Like most stainless welding on exhaust pipes back purging is needed.
