    intermittent central air problem

Sounds like the drain line is clogged. Not letting the condensation drain. Use some compressed air to blow out the line, from the attic side. That'll likely solve that problem. Sorry I can't help with the other one.

    Battery Tender recommendation

I'd get one with a de-sulphation mode. Hook it up to a good timer, so it cycles for an hour or two a week.

Looking for a quality dry erase board aka: white board

We have a large graphics department where I work. Day before yesterday, I saw them turning out a large chalk board, using a vinyl like material. It was laminated to a lightweight backing. And I know we rent 4×8 dry erase boards. So I'm thinking they must make em. I know they make the frames. So...

Use WD-40 "Smart Straw" Nozzles On Other Aerosol Cans

I tried it awhile back on a can of something else. It kinda worked. The non fitment issue was the problem. I think drilling out a small amount of material will do the trick. Thanks op.

looking at log splitters: what's good?

I've got a northern unit, I think it's a 37 ton. What I really like about it is the way it idles down, when not pulling a load. Two things happen here. It sips expensive gas, and the noise level goes way down. The splitter itself, is un-remarkable, other than the four way wedge. But it does have...

    What air compressor?!?!

Compressors come in all sizes, and you get more air tool staying power with a commercial unit. A new one will cost a minimum of about twenty three hundred. Lots of folks buy the homeowner models. They'll set you back around eleven hundred. Some people buy a used commercial unit for around four...

    Compressor oil

First, I'd have to think the amount of oil coming out of the crankcase vent as vapor, doesn't sound right. I'd think the amount would be so small, to not even be noticed. As an example, most people who've gone years without changing the oil, haven't said anything about having to add any oil...

    Compressor oil

Welcome to the GJ, we really like pictures when possible, sometimes it helps folks visualize what you're working on. Besides I'd kinda like to see what you've built there. Have you tried switching back to the original oil? Just to repeat the test, to see if it's really the oil.

Source for high quality American flags?

Cotton flags hang better, look better, than nylon. But I'd only use them indoors. Unless you're gonna have a flag raising each morning. If it's going to stay outside permanently, go with good quality nylon. Where I work we buy LOTS of flags. I've put flags of all sizes in all kinds of places...

    Wasp Control

If we're talking about an enclosed area like a wall or a soffit. Try using some of those ear tags, that the ranchers put on cows. They're not expensive, and last a long time. They repel just about anything that flies.

Apparently nobody gives a damn about office files

Okay, since I'm looking for old school, heavy file cabinets. You know the ones, they have roller glides, and when loaded, they glide closed with a satisfying ka-chunk. Here's the problem, there's not that many out there. I'll stop at every yard sale I see that has file cabinets. I've looked on...

    Kerosene Heaters

Seven bucks a gallon is what killed it for me. And that is the bulk price around here. Maybe if a guy purchased several hundred gallons, it'd be less but I doubt it. Then I switched to a diesel fired torpedo type heater, it worked much better. Now even that's too expensive. Here in Texas, it...

educate me - disk brake tools

Lots of home mechanics use a c-clamp. But the proper tool for it, isn't expensive. I bought mine at harbor freight, and it was less than twenty bucks for the whole kit. And the quality was surprisingly good.

    Removing a stump.

I have a tractor that size, and it isn't big enough to do the job. You'll find out fast those buckets aren't for digging, they're for scooping and moving loose dirt. Secondly, the hydraulics aren't strong enough to power a stump out. If you're working on lawn grass, rent a stump grinder. If...

Anyone have a rubber mat to protect work bench top?

I use a sheet of pvc. Comes in sheets that are 4×8, and cuts with a utility knife. Thickness varies depending on what's laying around at work. I prefer 6 mil. that's just shy of 1/4 in. This stuff is perfect for sacrificial bench top. You just can't hurt it, and it just wipes clean. Available at...

Please help! Locked out of toolbox

My box had a binding track issue. While I was messing with it one day, I inadvertently pushed in on the track. I don't remember why I was pushing on it. Probably trying to get the spring to work better, or something, it's not important. What is important is, I heard, and felt this track pop...

What size of compressor should I buy

Go with a champion, or saylor -beal, five horsepower. You can likely get by on three horsepower, but five is going to almost guarantee you'll have all you need. Pressure lubed is best, and buy it from a factory authorized dealer. If money truly is not a problem, then you should go first class...
