What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last week, some contractors were clearing some dead trees and brush from the property behind my house. I had them come and clear a small area with three dead trees and some other **** growing between the shop and the house. Left the one good tree standing. It looks fantastic now! Then on...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got the original AM radio working in my Fargo pickup. The antenna cable was shorting out against the body, so I swapped it out with my Dodge truck. Now I have working AM radio in all its glory! I was very pleased how good the radio and original speaker sound. Anyone have one of those old FM...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Been kinda busy out in the shop this week! My younger son and I finished up a pair of interior door panels for his '84 Ranger pickup. The originals were absolutely trashed. We used 1/4" Luan board and some Desert Storm-era desert camo nylon fabric. They came out pretty decent. Keeps the...

What did you use to adhere the bubble wrap to the door, and the panels to that?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My son and I built a couple of new inner door panels for his Ranger pickup, using Luan and nylon desert camoflage covering. TOnight, we cut the panels and installed them, but it's too cold in the shop to use the glue to finish them up, so that will come Friday. I hope.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

This is Rolene. She is a Black-mouth Cur, which are related to Mastiffs. She weighs 70 pounds. She is the best big dog I've ever had! She is a rescue dog. Her previous family had their house wiped out by the May '14 Moore, OK tornado. The places they found to rent would not allow dogs. We...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Well, I wasn't IN the garage; but since the laundry room/mud room enters in from the garage, I'll count this: Replaced the drum belt on the wife's clothes dryer today. That has the longest, skinniest belt I've encountered! Took getting the top and back off of it to access the belt. About 40...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced the six coils and spark plugs on my wife's '04 Dakota. Cleaned up a couple of parts on the Coronet. Did some sanding and prep on the brush mower, as I'm getting ready to paint it Ford Blue to match my tractor.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Sometime today or tomorrow, my son and I are going to replace the dead mechanical fuel pump on his little Ranger pickup with a new electric pump. Good truck, but it's ate three fuel pumps in one month. Adding a filter upstream from the new pump as insurance against another failure. As for the...

    Water incursion

Thinking about a dry well. Where it would be, the overflow would not affect anything, and head off into the pasture.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I caulked around the base of one corner of the shop, to help alleviate some water issues I've been having during hard rains. Got all my stuff out that I need to install a new work light for tomorrow. Cleaned the bathroom. Lubed up the rollers on the roll-up doors. Swept the floors.

    Water incursion

I'm actually amazed, too. Those two downspouts have actually helped to alleviate some of the problems I had before the gutters and downspouts were installed! We had very heavy rains back in May of '15 - over twenty inches over the month! - and there was very little flooding in that area. The...

If I re-grade, that would make the very back of my yard quite steep and un-mowable with my ZTR. Here are pics of the area behind my shop and inside, where I am getting the water:

My French Drain and Dry Well Project

Found your thread on the French drain - it has given me good ideas, thanks!

    Water incursion

I do have guttering on the North wall that is full-length, with two downspouts. The problem with water incursion existed both before the gutters and downspouts, and after. I'd thought about the French drain system, but will probably have to wait until late Winter to do that. In the meantime...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaned the shop bathroom. Got a little nasty, so ya gotta clean the thing now and then. Worked on my teardrop trailer a little bit, getting ready to build the door it was missing when I got the trailer. Worked on my Imperial convertible a bit, too. And worked on the son's POS Ranger pickup...

    Water incursion

My steel shop is built on the slab of my old house/shop, so it's a 65'x38' concrete slab with NO stem wall. When it rains, it does leak under the portion of the wall that is closest to the ground, on the NE corner. The framing of the shop is angle iron, and is bolted to the concrete. It is a...
