    1-man brake bleeding with Mityvac

I haven't used a Mityvac to bleed brakes for many years now. As long as you remember to keep the reservoir full of fluid you should be just fine. I would also highly recommend a motive power bleeder if you bleed brakes much at all...

    Renewing Alliance

I joined simply to help support the site. GJ is a tremendous resource IMHO. To answer the OP, while I don't know for sure how things work here; on every other forum on which I am a paying member, the membership only renews on the expiration date. I would assume it is the same on GJ.

A good salesman will remember his customers, big or small; and I am sure he could use a few more sales these days! It is a nice feeling though I am sure.

    garage door opener issue

Don't forget to make sure the springs are properly adjusted on the door. They do change over time and could need to be adjusted as well. I have run into this issue once...

    Rust stoppers....................

I have had better results with Rust Bullet than with POR15 myself. If you are going to use POR15, it works best in conjunction with Picklex. It was way more work than I was willing to do on some of my projects however; not to mention the fact that it will drive up the cost quite a bit. The...

    Maglight flashlight conversion to LED?

It depends on what type of replacement LED you get. My old AA maglites have been retrofitted with LED's and you can still focus the beam; and they are incredibly bright as well. It's all in which type replacement you get. They are not all created equal!

    Maglight flashlight conversion to LED?

I replaced all my bulbs with Terralux LED's. About $20 each for the nicer ones, not exactly cheap, but very bright and long battery life. Haven't had a problem with any of them since they were installed. Haven't priced out replacement LED's lately, but Costco was selling a combination pack of a...

    Fire Extinguisher

I also have eight fire extinguishers in the garage. If there is a fire, time is of the essence; and I have them all placed so that I never have to go more than six feet to reach one. Not to mention the fact that some fires can take more than one extinguisher to put out. I look at it as cheap...
