    Need more room in garage

Well I haven't been able to get anything done with this yet. We've had a few unexpected expenses come up so this has been pushed back. Hopefully I can get something done soon with it though. Now that we have determined that a bump-out is doable, how would you guys do it? I know that I am...

    Need more room in garage

Bricks for the exterior of the house and then air. We thought about cutting out the face of the blocks about 3 inches and put a piece of steel under the 2x4 base for support and then finish and frame up the cutout

    Need more room in garage

This is what I'm working with. The concrete wall is less than 3' tall and about 3" wide from the drywall.

    Need more room in garage

My wife suggested removing the bumper and putting on a rollpan, but I hate them so that's out. I would consider a smaller truck or SUV but it's tough when the truck is paid off and I don't really want to be in another truck payment. I have a crew cab now but even if I went to an extended cab...

    Need more room in garage

My truck is about 1" too long for the garage. I like our house but part of me wishes we didn't buy it (the wife loved it and as they say..Happy wife = happy life) but there were too many things we wanted to pass it up. So, now the truck lives outside and with the trees we have, it constantly...

Solid concrete blocks for foundation. Is it common?

I would be cutting about 3" out of the wall to make a pocket in the wall for additional clearance. The wall is in the garage. I will get a picture of the wall and post it tonight so you can get a better idea of what I'm working with. When we had the home inspector come out and inspect the...

Solid concrete blocks for foundation. Is it common?

Me and the wife just purchased our first house and I was checking out the garage again and noticed that it looks like they used solid concrete blocks for the foundation. Is this common? The house was build in '96. I'm going to have to make a cutout in the wall in the next few weeks and wondered...

Do they still make Tilt-up (up and over) garage doors or residential roll-up doors

That is one of our thoughts. We would have to notch out the concrete blocks so we don't know how much work that is going to be or even if it can be done.

Do they still make Tilt-up (up and over) garage doors or residential roll-up doors

It's not the height of the door, but the when the door is down. The truck fits fine as far as height goes. When the door is down, the truck is maybe 1" too long. If there is a way to either modify the existing garage door or get a new one to gain an additional 2" or so, it would be perfect.

Do they still make Tilt-up (up and over) garage doors or residential roll-up doors

We just bought a house that has a traditional aluminum sectional garage door. My truck is about 1" too long to fit in the garage and it is due to the door. The door will need to be replaced and we are looking at other types of doors. Will a tilt-up/up & over/Canopy type door give me an...

New house, garage/truck parking delimma and possible fix

The drywall is set back far enough but I would need ramps that are about 1.5' tall to be able to clear the wall, it's at least 36" tall. I personally can't stand rollpans, especially on the newer Silverados so that's not an option and neither is a smaller truck. I would need at least an...

New house, garage/truck parking delimma and possible fix

Hey Guys, New guy to the forum here. I'm going to go ahead and apologize for the long post. Me and the wife just bought our first house the other day. The only delimma is the garage. Not the overall size of it, but just the length. The garage is 19x20, which in the area and most newer homes...
