    Completely disgusted with Sears service

Last year I worked in the field at Sears and one time this guy wanted to return his TV because he didn't like it, but it was a 32" CRT that he couldn't bring back (200 lbs) and we had no way of picking it up. So I offered to take my car over to his place (nearby), stuff that monster into it...

    *********** a Retail Store

First - It's a 90 day return policy. 30 days is for electronics only. Second - No, the receipt will easily last years if you keep it inside your home filed away. If you wrinkle up the receipt a lot or keep it in really hot environments, it will blank out quickly, but that is the nature of...

    *********** a Retail Store

What ***** is when your carbon-copy receipt turns into a clear white piece of paper and you go back to get a return processed and you can't remember what phone # you gave. Sears mostly uses the phone # for record of larger purchases to call when there is an issue (if it is an ordered item) or...

Another lovely F'ed up day on sears.com

Maybe it wasn't working earlier, but if you go to the cart it comes out to the correct price. When you first add it to the cart it shows the $439.97, but then when you go to checkout the discounts apply. Craftsman Club discount applies another $9.56 off as well. Total before tax: $290.42 Weird.

Sears is Selling Snap On Stuff

Not cynical, just how companies are run, especially if a company is publicly owned. Squeeze all the margins you can, no matter the cost. It's funny because companies that have remained private always use that fact as an advantage. I went to interview with Aldi (ultra low end grocery store...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

The 11910 is being offered with a radio packed in for a limited time and it should be featured on a displayer in the middle of the aisle, if the store has it set up correctly. It is also only $149.99 if you are a Craftsman Club member, which is the cheapest the drill has ever been. Don't order...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Honestly it's my favorite drill in the lineup and everyone has been impressed with it if they buy it. All of the reviews are 5-stars except one guy who gave a 4-star because the closest store to him didn't have it an he had to driver further away to get it (of course that was when the tool was...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Comparing apples to apples though, the 11910 is the C3 compact lithium-ion drill and it is similar size and weight as the Milwaukee and comes with a single sleeve chuck. It's not a fair comparison to pin the Milwaukee Li-Ion compact unit against a regular NiCd drill that is typically 1/2 the price.

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Double-sleeve technically requires 2-hands to tighten the chuck. Some people prefer it because they feel they can get it "tighter" due to the force of using both hands in opposite directions. But most prefer single-sleeve because it is simple one-handed operation. And honestly, you won't...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Actually the 17191 comes with a regular 1-hr charger that you get in all of the other combo kits/drills. You are thinking of the charger in the 11689, which is definitely slower (but that drill also comes with a light). And yes, the 2-speed drill is actually pretty much the same thing it has...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Happy to help with any questions that I know the answer to. I work on the Portable Power team so I specialize in that. Yes, any current C3 batteries can be used in most older 19.2v tools, though I believe there was an initial run of the Ni-Cd battery that was different for some drills (before...

    Craftsman 19.2v drills on sale

Disclaimer: I work for Sears Holdings. The $50 value is great but that drill is not as powerful as what many people expect from an 18v+ drill (single speed and it comes with only 1 battery). I wouldn't expect that item to be representative of most C3 Drills. The 2-Drill kits at $100 are a...

Anyone seen the DualSaw commercial ..

Actually because of the cutting nature of the blades rotating in opposite directions, it actually does work quite well as advertised in the DualSaw commercial. You can cut through metal like butter and it leaves a pretty clean finish too. I wouldn't recommend it for wood, but that's what a...

Anyone seen the DualSaw commercial ..

I believe both use the same patent but to our knowledge the Dual Saw is not the same manufacturer. I don't know the Dual Saw quality requirements either but Craftsman Professional tools are tested to a pretty high standard. Engineers test and verify motor runtime requirements, cold climate...

Comments, Internets influence on tool value

I think we're in agreement here. Government doesn't know how to spend and will never know, but they figure out how to collect taxes and they will figure this thing out as well. :)

Comments, Internets influence on tool value

I agree that it won't last much longer, but I think it needs to be one way or the other. Either no taxes on anything (which will then force a higher income/property tax anyway - pick your poison) or tax all outlets. You can't just tax brick and mortar and not internet, that is a significant...

Anyone seen the DualSaw commercial ..

Disclosure: I work for Sears Holdings Sears isn't discontinuing the item. There were some vendor difficulties as the vendor restructured itself and counldn't provide product for a few months. Since the Dual Saw commercial there has been increased interest and now the item is backordered for a...

Comments, Internets influence on tool value

Online effecting bottom-barrel power tools? I think they are still about the same as they always have been, customers who don't care about quality will buy them but the mid and high range customer won't. I think the real impact over the long-term will be mid-range tools. More of the...

Has anyone used an Auto Hammer

There will be some running change improvements in the near future to help address some of the issues but the item does work. It's a compliment to your normal hammer for those tight spots, not a replacement. The biggest disappointment seems to be when people try to use it for longer nails in...
