    Vintage small air compressor…seeking info

I picked up this very small. I believe vintage air compressor at the yard sale this weekend. As a patent date of 1933 but no manufacturer name the patent no. Is 2023466. Guy I bought it from didn’t know if it was really very old or not so I took a chance just because it was a cool looking...

    Wilton 746 Questions

I recently picked up a Wilton 746 that needs a little attention (I hope a little). The jaws will not fully close…by about a half inch. What’s the deal with that? I’ve fully removed the moving jaw and provided pics for what that’s worth. Also, this vice has 2 lock downs on the rotation. Why...

Anyone recognize the emblem on this Vice?

Saw this on a small Vice had no name but did have an emblem on the side. Another distinguishing characteristic of this vice, even though it doesn’t show up well in the pics is that it has a triangular bar/slide where most are square or rectangular, round or square. Thank!

    Hurd’s Axe….seeking info

I saw this axe in an antique shop today but it was labeled as “hand forged axe” which to me says the owner didn’t see what I did stamped on the side of the axe…”Hurd’s”. Part of the reason they didn’t see the branding is that there is quite a bit of pitting. My questions are how old is an axe...

Vintage drill bits in original package

I picked up these drill bits at an estate sale recently. They still have bits inside. My guess is these bits far exceed the quality of most modern day bits! Any way to date these items? How uncommon is it to have these original sleeves? Thanks in advance…

    Another Wilton Vice Question

On my Wilton 646, is this stamping a serial number or date code? Although it looks like an obvious date, most date codes I’ve seen described was either a Julian date or just a month and year 3 letter code.

    Wilton 646 Vise question

I picked up a pretty nice condition 646 today that the jaws won’t retract on. Got it apart and n the parts cleaner and see that there is a pin sheared that needs to be replaced. It seems to be clear of the part that rides in the threaded rod but is still in place in the frame of the vise. My...

    Lead Melting Pot/Burner

Found a pretty nice item at the flea market this past weekend. It’s a Dunlap Lead Melting Burner along with pot, ladle, big spoon and bout 25 lbs of lead. Places on the internet say these were made back in the early 1900s and forward. The ladle is a Chicago Specialty #3. The burner is made a...

    Stover C Clamps

Are Stover C-Clamps well known and/or collectible? I don’t even remember where I got these. They look pretty old. Think they say they are made in Freeport, IL

    ID on this Vise?

Can any of you positively identify this small but very well built vise? It has 1 1/2” jaws and a butterfly type wing nut to tighten it to a table. I can add photos on request. Thx

Got my “new” Vise mounted on my Workbench

I bought this Reed 204 1/2R at an antique store in Pigeon Forge back in January. Took it apart and cleaned it up good... didn’t want it painted. Yesterday I got it mounted and ready for use. Looks like it was originally black. Any way to tell when this vise was manufactured?

Help with Info on old Reed Vice

Hello, thanks for the add and first post. Last summer me and the wife went to the beach and while I was perusing the local Craigslist ads I saw a Ford truck Grill assembly for sale and ended up buying. While there I also bought this big, old Reed Vice, embossed with “43”. It has a patented...
