    VCT tile

I have a strip of rubber at one of the garage door openings from Garadry. A great product, https://www.garadry.com/products/garage-door-seal-15mm I was getting a little water under that particular door. It seemed to be perfect as a transition from the driveway onto the tile. I think I will...

    VCT tile

Does not seem too slippery, but I haven't had it very wet. The tires I understand can stain the white tiles, I am hoping the wax will help prevent this. It is a working garage, there will be dirt and oil, I am hoping these tiles will help to keep a clean floor. I've had epoxy floors, (U coat...

    VCT tile

I decided to use Vinyl Composition Tiles for my 1600 square foot garage. It took about 40 boxes and two days of labor. I did a 4 by 4 pattern. Then I spent a few days applying 2 coats of sealer and 4 coats of wax. I am very happy with the results. I did notice when I rolled a couple of...

Reviews on IngersolRand 2340L5 60 Gal 5hp Compressor

I have that compressor. I purchased it about 12 years ago and it has served me well. That being said, the motor did give out about 6 years in with little more than 40 hrs. of run time. Which may be a lot, I don't know; I just use it in my home garage. I replaced the motor with a Baldor 5 HP...

    Slab Floor, No gravel substrate?

Concrete driveways are poured over undisturbed clay all the time. No problems that I know of yet with mine, pictured here. This was done a few years ago.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 34x34 in NoVa

We used Collegiate Sealers out of Chantilly I believe. We had a 150' driveway paved around 2006. We had it sealed every few years. When the house was sold in 2018 the driveway was still in very good condition. The price of asphalt is very much tied to the price of petroleum, but at $5,000...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 34x34 in NoVa

I used to live just over the Occoquan from Clifton. Right off Yates Ford Rd. I had a very nice detached garage at our home, which was right on the river. 720 square ft. detached, 540 attached. Over 2 acres. It was a nice place. Took over a year to sell in 2017-18. After retirement, I had to...

    Snap On YA434B Blast Cabinet

That is an older model, probably made in the '89's. I've had good luck calling Snap On for getting older owners manuals. But, it would be unlikely to be able to get exact replacement parts. Dee Blast used to be the manufacturer of cabinets for Snap On. Check out that company, maybe they can...

    Hein-Werner WS 1 1/2 ton Floor jack rebuild/question

That piston seal looks pretty bad. Unfortunately, it seems one can't just purchase only that seal. They are part of the seal kit. But they are not too expensive. Replace that seal, do not overtighten the nut on the bottom of the shaft. It will distort the seal and pull it inwards. That nut...

    Floor jack lifting issue

Sounds like the jack is low on fluid and probably has air in the system. These are good jacks that I would be hesitant to give up on. Check your fluid level by removing the fill plug at the back of the unit under the cover between the rear wheels. The fluid should be level with the fill hole...

    My garage

I'd say that price is very reasonable for what you describe. Wish I could have gotten by that cheap on mine.

Old Weaver Jack (Weaver Utility, 5000lb jack)

That is an awesome jack. I have to admit, I love these projects, and I would be doing what I could to bring that one back. In my travels I ran across a shop in NJ that does lots of jacks. The business caught my attention from the antique Blackhawk jack on top of a pole out front. He had many...

window/opening from attic truss to lift bay?

I left my loft open. In the interest of the storage of vintage cars down below, I decided to build a knee wall to hopefully keep anything from falling onto cars below. I am using the loft primarily for storage.

    20x30 garage-Attic Trusses y/n?

For the small additional cost you would gain some nice storage. Maybe keep one end open to the area below like Kaymc said to have access with a ladder.

Used engine oil on the deck

I had a trailer with a wood deck. Used it to haul a riding mower that would drip oil. The sun would draw the oil up to the surface. Made a real mess. I don't know how putting oil on a deck would be a good idea.

Don Long, I am truly impressed with this jack, as well as all you show us here. Great job saving another great piece of equipment.

    Trim question

I have had my garage drywalled. The lower 15" of the wall is the stem wall make of cinder blocks. The drywall ends at the stem wall leaving a 1/2" - 9/16" step back to the cinder blocks. How does one go about trimming this? Sounds like a dumb question but I have never encountered this before...

Mountain Garage using Logs and Heavy Timber

That will be an awesome garage. I know the Maggie Valley area well as I work in Transylvania county often. I have free time and I hike the beautiful Pisgah Forest, Smokey Mountains, and check out the waterfalls. Yes, your cars should be happy there. Good Luck with the construction.

    Pricing a new garage

I'm having a 42 X 36 done. It is coming in around $75.00 a square foot. No foundation issues, but I am having it bricked all four sides. I was surprised at the price too. I had been waiting on this garage for several years. I had several bids and most were higher. A lot of builders I...
