we all knew it eventually had to happen to Craftsman...

I don't know what craftsman can do that's not already being done. If they come back to America and try to make a profit you probably looking at SK, Wright or JH Williams pricing. I'm not going to buy tools from a floundering tool company for the same price as a well run one. Taiwan.....who are...

How to put a round hole in a convex surface???

Notch your pipe whatever the radis is where you want to join it to the keg. Mark around the pipe and cut inside the line. Grind to fit. We keep a set of these rings in different sizes for irrigation work.

Decent 1/2 Breaker Bar - At least 24"

+1 on the Harbor Freight. I twisted the end off my snap on and bought one while in a bind. It worked where the snap on failed. Buy two or add a flex head ratchet if your scared.

we all knew it eventually had to happen to Craftsman...

Why in the Hell do we need craftsman? We got Wright and JH Williams already. That's USA wrenches and sockets. I'm going Sunex and GP for impacts anyway. There's Gearwrench who's doing a pretty good job for what they are. Piss on Craftsman.

Am I an a**hole for jumping mechanic about..

He may have been doing the best he could with what he had to work with. It's a lot easier to take the moral high ground when you have money in your pocket. Good on you for taking an interest but if the guys broke....what does he do?

Advice on Heavy Duty Mechanic Tools

I used to get by fine with IR deep impacts and a shallow set of 12 point snap on chrome sockets in my road box. I would buy Williams sockets over the snap on new if your not getting the service. For impacts I would go Sunex or grey pneumatic and watch for sales, especially on Sunex. Watch...

I have an idea for a new tool, what do I do?

You should take a look at Lisle if you don't have the money to do it right. A guy on another forum sent in pictures of a tool years ago. At the time it was probably ground breaking and should have been patented. Other manufactures started making the same tool. Lisle finally started making it and...

    Best tube grease

I use a lot of Lucas red and tacky or heavy duty on my heavy equipment. Mostly because it's easy to get locally. I keep one grease gun with green mystic just to grease the turntable bearing on my excavator. Schaffers is an incredibly good grease but a pain in the *** to buy for me. I bought a...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

I think it's in the thread that you need to have your lift in your possession before pouring your concrete as they are not all made the same size or match the provided plans. That really isn't relevant to the op's question about placement but I think it's important information that doesn't...

    Using Skytrak/Telehandler on slab.

Thanks to the OP for bringing this thread to life, not doubt it could save someone some headaches down the road. I'll answer the OP's questions and would like to hear some other opinions from different parts of the country. I outgrew concrete work and building except for my own right after the...

Well said. That's some of the best advice I've read online in a while:thumbup:

    Using Skytrak/Telehandler on slab.

Common sense is we are talking about a garage floor. Driving on a floor during construction is common practice where I live. Any steel building that I have contracted was built this way. Tracks and all. Withholding payment over tracks is ridiculous IMO if it wasn't in the original agreement...

New concrete not as flat as I expected...

It looks like they screeded one end the then screeded the other wet screeding what they screeded first. Laymans terms. Is this hump about 10 feet from one end where they over lapped while screeding the floor?

    Using Skytrak/Telehandler on slab.

This is where I think you are arguing both sides of the issue. If the contract states X inches thick, XXXX PSI and a troweled finish that's the specs. No tire marks, oil drips or whatever else you want to dream are extras that wasn't put in the contract by the owner. It's really not the GC...
