    3 1/4" carbide hole saw

    The problem with a hole saw when the material is that thick is that there is no where for the chips to go. Start cutting with your hole saw and then drill a couple of 1/4" holes around the perimeter, then back to the hole saw. Plenty of WD40. If you have a hole hawg with the big handle, use that.

    1965 GMC build

    The shocks package better that way usually. It leaves the rebound adjuster on the bottom where it is easier to get at especially in the rear. You save a bit of unsprung weight. It only works with monotubes though, you can not mount twin tube shocks upside down.
