Amerex 240 (Stainless Steel/Water) Fire Extinguisher and water with Chloride

The reason for the chlorides limit is that some types of stainless steel are prone to cracking when exposed to chlorides and under stress. Look up Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking. I wouldn't do 1ppm, never mind 40. I'd use distilled water. If you've had regular tap in it, give it a good...

Sevillew UltraHD Workbench and Lathe ... does it make sense ...

Grizzly does make some good stuff. I've had one of their 14" bandsaws and I have an 8" joiner. I've been very happy with Grizzly stuff. It's a lot better fit, finish and quality than HF. I'd take a guess that that Workbench would be great if you remove the wheels.

    The Shop Stool

Well this thread is going to cost me a few hundred. My cheap Craftsman stool is broke and I was looking for a new one. I guess now I'm looking for an old one. I'd probably have to search Craigslist for a year to find one, I guess I'll be hitting up ebay.

Learn from my mistakes on my Wolverine floor

I'm really surprised you laid it so thick. I really don't think it's going to be a big durability issue going half as thick which is what I did. I applied 1 gal liquatile per 120sf. I think the regular mixers worked fine with out grinding the sides of the containers. Proper speed is important...

    Wiring up air compressor

I've got a 60gal 3.5hp/7hp peak Kobalt air compressor. I had to call CS to get a new pressure switch since the threads on one of my screws was stripped. I mentioned that I noticed when I went to wire up the power cord. The lady on the phone told me that I have to hard wire not use a power cord...

How to treat blocks at bottom of wall?

I used the wolverine epoxy. Same stuff as the floor and I didn't add the thickener. I used a 3" chip brush to put it on and it went fine. no sagging. It did take a good bit though. I need to order more for the second half of my garage as a result. Looks great. Hardest part was doing the chips on...

    Recommendations for a shopvac/dust collector

I'd say hook up a true dust collector to the 2" pvc is a waste of time. Like said a dust collector is high volume and the vac is mostly high suction pressure. The suction power of the DC would drop off very badly if it's only flowing through 2" pipe. even a small one needs 4" pipe. The shop vac...

    Shop Vacuum Accessory Storage

Best suggestion for a filter is spend the $35 and buy a clean stream. I think they're made of goretex. Can be used wet or dry. Never rots, better suction, washable, and for dust a quick bang on the side of the trash can and the dust falls off. I've had the same one for about 5 years used for...

    Vise for drilling stuff

HF vices aren't great but they're not bad for the light user and in a pinch. I've got a 4" bolted to the corner of my bench and it works fine for me. Is a record better? Obviously. If the HF a decent user? Yes. I only buy certain stuff there. A lot of Chinese ****, a bit of decent stuff.

    Garage Airconditioning

Well starting with the statement used isn't a good idea. If you can find a large house setup used it's probably a POS. They usually aren't replaced until busted. If they aren't solid copper construction (ie aluminum fins) than the lifespan is also decreased do to the differential expansion rates...

1st half of garage finished, Wolverine epoxy

I think I used the perfect amount. Using the recommended 1 gal/300sf for the top coat I've still got a bit of texture poking through and it should be enough to be non slip. If I wanted a perfectly smooth finish I would definitely have need to use more bondtite on the top coat. Now if your being...

1st half of garage finished, Wolverine epoxy

Took a long time. 8-10 hours for 300sf. From what I've heard that 2-3x longer than expected. I don't know if I've got hard concrete, the grinder is to slow, or I just ****. Either way it came out good. Look at my other thread for grinding pics.

    Floor grinding not going well.

That's the same grinder set up I used but different wheel. I didn't have a problem with my pebbles not grinding down. I did only have a few strips of floor where I hit pebbles. You will open up some sub-surface voids but the should be small. The epoxy will fill these. My vac was a 6hp and I also...

    Wolverine Cure Times

If your planning to do one coat each night you'll be fine. My primer coat this past weekend took about 14hrs until it wouldn't leave sock prints. It felt hard in 8 hours but would leave footmarks. The liquatile I did Sunday night, finishing about midnight. At 6am it was still tacky, when I got...
