    Shop Press conversion

The first idea that pops into my head would be to fashion an electric motor and a piston and pulley system, similar to what a locomotive uses, converting the rotational motion of the electric motor to a linear motion. It would be great fun to figure out if it could be done practically. You...

    PROTO's big reveal 7/9/13

Would love a great big clearance sale or something. Their 270 pc intermediate set looks pretty legit. Depending on what you could get it for and the quality would be a great all-around set to build a toolbox around.

    WW2 tool training vid

Nice to see that the basics of military technical training haven't changed in over 65 years. Was the narrator calling the guy in the video a "dolt" the whole time?? That's awesome and not PC at all; there's one difference from today's training.

That's a really nice sledge, especially for that price. I've had one for a couple years now. Although, I guess it could be hard to mess up a hammer. :dunno:

    Todays tool find!

I like those boxes. They kind of look military style; like old ammo boxes that were repurposed. Looks like a decent haul, depending on what you paid.

    New Craftsman Industrial Catalog

Seems legit. I've known of the Professional series but how long has this Industrial line been around. I've always been a fan of Craftsman but the shift to Made in China has been a let-down.

    Craigslist Score? How'd I do?

I've got a Ryobi compound miter saw that I've had for years that works great for the home projects. Not sure about their quality on their newer stuff but I'd guess you'll be happy.

    Requisite Introduction

Hello all, I've been trolling on the forum for about a month now. Figured I would jump on and do the intro ahead of soaking up anymore knowledge. The Marine Corps has me in VA for the next few years and I plan on spending those years fine tuning the car that my garage been getting built around.

    Picked These Up Today

Meandering through Lowe's looking for yellow stickers found a couple pieces that I am very happy with: Kobalt 3/8" torque wrench on clearance for 50% off and a Nicholson file (also clearance priced). The wrench is made in Taiwan and seems to be of decent quality given the price. The file was...
