Craftsman 4 ton floor jack puking oil

Yup. And the last valve doesn't have a ball at all, which I found strange.

I'm rebuilding the same jack right now. Waiting on confirmation from hiball on the orings at the moment :). Here's what your cylinder looks like on the inside: These are the o-ring dimensions I measured, but *have not confirmed* Pump shaft 17mm x2.5mm Release valve 8mm x 1.75mm Ram tube...

    A/C Hose Crimper - Automobile

I'm all for buying new tools and stuff, but I just had a new line made at an automotive A/C supply shop a couple months ago. I had to pick up a new compressor for my 68 Camaro and they crimped the hose ends on for free. At $600 you're talking about $150 per hose crimp for two systems; I...

    Weaver WA-73 Jack Restoration

Found the serial on the cylinder. According to Castle Equipment this Jack was Made in 1962. They said the original color would have been green, but I'm 100% positive that this jack has been red it's whole life. After further discussion from them it could have been used by the Ford Motor...

    Square sockets for pipe plugs?

Haven't gotten them. We'll see how it goes. I figured for 8 bucks I'm not in a hurry and don't have a lot to lose. He's got a lot of positive feedback more recent than that. 4 negs could be people playing games or stuff lost in the mail. EDIT: Just got a shipping notification with a...

    Square sockets for pipe plugs?

I just bought a set of 1/4 to 1/2 8 point craftsmans on ebay for $8.76 shipped. These are sockets that mostly sit in the drawer, but when you need one, boy are you glad you have one...

    1938 Scaife Air Compressor (?!?)

When I can't tell where a sound is coming from, I'll usually put a piece of rubber hose to my ear and move it towards each moving part until I can localize the sound. A mechanics stethoscope would come in handy as well. I use them for isolating bad bearings when I'm working on cars. They're...

What kind of floor jack is this?

Thanks. I wanted a 4 ton for lifting my F-250 Diesel. Front end on that is heavy, and my old jacks were scaring me, they barely lift the thing and are hard to control when releasing the weight. I had a scare a couple weeks ago that finally made me say uncle and look for a decent jack. My...

What kind of floor jack is this?

Gave the guy $100 and brought it home. It's a 4 ton, based on the 5" front wheel diameter and the fact that the body is 58" long. He said it leaks, but I haven't seen any oil coming out of it. It doesn't lift all the way though, this is as high as I could get it.

What kind of floor jack is this?

Thank you sir. Any idea which model? Is it a 4 ton? EDIT: After more research, this looks like either a WA-72 or a WA-73. So, that's either a 2 or a 4 ton depending on which it is. I'm trying to find something in that picture that distinguishes the two. Any guesses?

What kind of floor jack is this?

I'm going to take a look at it later today. I'm guessing a blackhawk 4 ton? Guy selling it on CL isn't sure what it is. He's asking $175, I'm going to offer less and see where it goes unless someone on here waves me off of it.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Here's an old Cornwell we use to store bodyworking tools and some other random stuff in. I have no idea how old it is, but it's old. I'd guess mid 30's? This craftsman is early to mid 60's I think. We inherited these both from a family friend years ago. The cornwell is kind of a...

Out of all of the grinders in my dad's shop, I think this one is the oddball, and the least used for that matter.

Buddy of mine gave me some S-K sockets

I'm not sure why these are knurled the way they are. It's not raised, it's recessed. It appears to be purely decorative.

Buddy of mine gave me some S-K sockets

A few days ago a friend of mine gave me some old sockets he had sitting around that he never used. They were buried in with a bucket of junk sockets and odds and ends he picked up at an auction years ago. I put them on the craftsman socket holders a while back and hung them up in his garage...

1.5 Ton Walker Floor Jack In Need Of Repair

I'm not sure what model you have, but there are rebuild kits on ebay in the $30-40 range. One guy says he has kits for all models. Just search for walker floor jack. My dad went this route on one of his and it works flawlessly.

    Craftsman Lathe questions

You're right, it is a 12, the width of the headstock threw me. THat's a pretty light 12", but my sentiments above still apply.
