MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Well I just placed an order for my Max Jax! Eagerly awaiting it! Question about the drill and bits for the anchors. I have this Hammer Drill: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YL4990/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I am thinking this should be sufficient, or do I need to rent/buy an "SDS" drill? For bits...

Buying a portable 2-post... MaxJax vs Universalift vs ?

Bumping this for some more feedback on the C7000 option vs Max Jax. Those who opted to go C7000 how do you find moving the columns? I have a 22x28 garage with 10' ceilings, so I could benefit slightly from the increased lift height of the C7000, and I like the idea of the continuous lock vs...

Blast Cabinet: TP 780 vs Eastwood vs Barrel Blaster

Next size up @ TP is the 850 cabinet. It starts at $1000 plus $150 shipping so even if it were on a scratch and dent sale it would be significantly more expensive, so I don't think that is an option. http://www.tptools.com/850-Fast-Blast-Abrasive-Blast-Cabinet-No-Vac,795.html?b=d*8015

Blast Cabinet: TP 780 vs Eastwood vs Barrel Blaster

My biggest hangup on the TP Tools is that it seems a lot smaller inside vs the Eastwood. I think that the lack of top loading on the Barrel Blaster takes it out of the running for me.

Blast Cabinet: TP 780 vs Eastwood vs Barrel Blaster

I currently have a HF bench top blast cabinet that my dad got tired of messing with and gave me. I've used it long enough now to have found its shortcomings yet find it useful enough a tool that I want to move to a better cabinet. My two issues with the current cabinet are the size (access door...

    Help with basement workshop flooding!

I have a split-level house that has two "crawlspaces" that have been dug out and concreted to be basements by a previous owner. I have made one of them into a small wood working shop, however now that I have outfitted the area I have come to find that during periods of heavy rain over a few...

Help me identify compression fitting on air compressor

I am trying to determine what type of fitting this is, with the end goal of converting to standard 1/2" compression fittings. This is a 80 Gal, 5HP Kobalt for reference. From the pump head I have a male thread which had a compression style tube fitting, however the ferrule is not like any I...

Recommend me a bearing splitter set

I'm looking for a bearing splitter set for mostly old electric motors, stationary power tool repair, and some occasional automotive use. It seems there is a big gap between the ~$40 Harbor Freight set and the $400-500 OTC sets (once you count the necessary accessories). Is there anything in the...

    Critique my compressor modification plan

Not much progress on this other than I had received my aftercooler core. A buddy saved me this fan from an old microwave. Think it will work well for this? It is about 10"x5" so I would need to make a shroud. In case the sticker is not clear it reads: OH SUNG (what a brand!) OBB-1312X1...

Fair price for Delta/Rockwell bandsaw & DP?

Its definitely got a bearing inside. I was hoping it would be fine as it is in the oiled gear box, but it is rough.

    Upgraded motor & mount on 113 saw - issue/question

Sorry if the photos were too big before. They should be fixed now. I was able to find these on Amazon to use as bushings: 5/8" ID Steel Spanner Bushing For 2" Caster Wheel 3/4" OD to 5/8" ID x 2-7/16" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JMV2VIM/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Now the motor is much more...

Fair price for Delta/Rockwell bandsaw & DP?

OK made some progress on the band saw! I could not get the shifter to switch modes, and it was stuck between wood and metal mode such that nothing would drive the main band saw wheel. I was able to replace the cord and verify the motor was good. Found this very helpful and informative post...

Fair price for Delta/Rockwell bandsaw & DP?

Well I've spent some time disassembling, sand blasting, and painting the drill press. Had to drill out the broken off old handles and get new ones. Anyway, the wait has paid off and now it's all back together and ready for another 50 years of service.

    Upgraded motor & mount on 113 saw - issue/question

Well I found a sleeve bearing at McMaster that might work. 6381K6 Alloy 932 (SAE 660) Bronze Sleeve Bearing for 5/8" Shaft Diameter, 3/4" OD, 3" Length $10.82 each (need two) plus shipping. Just trying to see if anyone has any ideas that might be available without shipping or better/cheaper?

    Upgraded motor & mount on 113 saw - issue/question

I like the idea of a sleeve but not sure how to make one. New rod diameter is 0.625" and old one is 0.745". They are 3.75" long.

    Upgraded motor & mount on 113 saw - issue/question

I recently went through my early 50's vintage 113.27520 Craftsman table saw, replaced arbor bearings, did a minor restoration. Now after all the reassembly I noticed that the motor wouldn't align up with the inner pulley well. I hadn't paid much attention before, but I saw that a spot weld had...

    Pressure washer

Thinking of purchasing a pressure washer for general cleanup around the house. Want something that will last for awhile and is high quality, so not the generic big box type stuff. I have done some research and found that the Comet or CAT pumps seem best, and Honda GX or equivalent motor is also...

Fair price for Delta/Rockwell bandsaw & DP?

Well I tossed out a bid and forgot about it. Found out I got both items; now I need advice on how to load and transport home. Specifically on the band saw. It will be 160 miles one way; want to make sure to secure safely and avoid damage. Will be either renting a truck or a trailer.

    Critique my compressor modification plan

Ordered the AKG cooler and the Amazon auto-drain solenoid tonight. Still on the fence about the fans. Not sure if the small case fans I found initially will be strong enough, or if I'm over thinking that part. May have to hit the Habitat Restore/Goodwill this weekend and see if I can find...
