2 of my shop lights don't work.

Thank you, I didn't confirm the voltage but if the new lights don't work I will do that. And don't worry, I understand the risks so won't be doing anything dodgy then the power is on.

2 of my shop lights don't work.

Just for my own sanity I want some assurance my thinking is right regarding a shop light issue I have. I bought 4 LED strip lights for my shop. I have some electrical experience but got an experienced friend to help me connect them up to the circuit. I wired the 4 lights in parallel and then he...

    Lighting cord advice

Yes they CAN plug into each other, but I want them paid out in series, so will need a power cord to link them. My question is what people do with the extensions in terms of covering them or not. Can you elaborate? I would assume so, how would I find out though for certain? Codes are new to me.

    Lighting cord advice

I'm looking at getting the following lighting bars for my 20x20 garage: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074CY2HHC/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I will need extended cords for them with the layout I'm having, and the power will come from the current light which I will remove and use an adapter: This will...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Nick's Two-Car Detached Vdub Garage

Thank you. I'm using drywall and have out 2 coats of primer, then 2 coats of top. Yes I think I'll just have to stick extra coats on if I need to. The stripe is being applied with a 1/4" roller so maybe my paint isn't that great. More coats it is! I don't have a build thread yet. I have debated...

Nick. One more question (sorry), how many coats of the blue stripe paint did you put on? I've put 2 coats on of red so far as it's still thin enough you can see the paint underneath.

Excellent, thank you! I estimated from your pics it was about 4ft, and I was going to do a 4 in stripe but might do a 6 now. I got some self adhesive baseboard from Menards!

Can I have more details on the thickness and height of the stripe too? ** Scratch that, started painting mine this morning and made the stripe just under 4ft from the floor, with the stripe itself being 4 inches wide, thanks.

Thank you. Yes I intend to go with a lighter gray, probably a lunar colour like Dubbers Double has. I like the aspect of a white upper half for better light reflection though, and if I don't like it I can always repaint it, thanks again!

Nick, what colors did you use for the walls? Just finished priming my garage and want to go with a similar two tone look, except I'll have a red stripe.

    Stud finder recommendations

Thanks guys, I may get the Hanson for now as it's only 7 bucks but the Franklin does look pretty awesome too. If I spend that sort of money though I may go with the zircon so I can detect wiring and piping too. Certainly learned a lot in this thread though!

    Stud finder recommendations

Can anyone recommend any decent but good value stud finder? This is just for personal, and not professional use so I don't want to spend a huge amount of money. It seems that most are magnetic such as this...
