Yes they CAN plug into each other, but I want them paid out in series, so will need a power cord to link them. My question is what people do with the extensions in terms of covering them or not. Can you elaborate? I would assume so, how would I find out though for certain? Codes are new to me.

Thank you. Yes I intend to go with a lighter gray, probably a lunar colour like Dubbers Double has. I like the aspect of a white upper half for better light reflection though, and if I don't like it I can always repaint it, thanks again!
