I'd say go to lowe's and buy some kobalt pliers. Good price and lifetime warranty. Better than harbor freight stuff in my opinion. Or go to ace/true value and get some stanley pliers

Also every owner's manual has a checklist in the back with what should be done and at what mileage so why not just use that?

They've been exchanging broken ratchets with rebuilds for years.

I still buy stuff at Sears. Right now between Christmas and and them losing money you can get all kinds of deals and not just on tools.

You don't return stanley tools to a store. Just call their customer service and they send you a replacement. I don't think the op wants these for daily use. I think he wants them more for home use.

I grabbed some blackhawk ones off of amazon and haven't had a problem with them.
