    Chopped 55 f100

Thanks for the comments Bob and John. I still have a long ways to go before I would consider myself an upholstery guy but to me doing it yourself with flaws is much more rewarding than paying someone else to do a better job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. The van has grown on me. I completely lost sight of quick and easy but I have learned a lot on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No van nationals for me this year. Not sure if I will do anything crazy like that when the van is done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Been slowly learning how not to do upholstery. Picked up 1/4 and 1/2” foam, carpet and white vinyl. Will use some gold material out of my dads stash for inserts. My oldest daughter has been helping with the upholstery every step of the way which I have really enjoyed. We have played the...

Thanks. Was a bit harder than I expected to find 14” white wall tires. They are almost a thing of the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Slow progress but I just installed some new shoes and have a good pile of new parts sitting in the shop waiting to get installed. Just need to find time. Also lowered it another 1.5” for a total of 2.5” in the back and 3.5” in the front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had a little bit of sun out today so I pulled the van out to see how it looks. The blends are very ghost like. They disappear when your not close to it then they are very obvious when up close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Don. I have had good luck stopping at 2000 grit. Only went to 3500 since I could do it with the DA easily since the van has so much flat area. As far as custom paint it’s another addicting habit I have. I am certain the nicest paint job I have done was that black Tudor sedan and it was...

It’s pagan gold kandy over a black base. The orange color on the roof and in the lace is pagan gold kandy over gold base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    62 Corvette rebuild

Looks amazing Don. I really like seeing cars with history getting finished and back on the road (especially when the history is with the current owner). You are making us all look bad at this point with your pace on the project. Keep it up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Generally I like being a little unpredictable. I have said many times that roofs IMO are fair game to go crazy. The main body I generally tone down unless I have a statement I want to make. This one I wanted subtle blending of similar colors to give a bit more than ghost panels. To me...

Thanks for following and all the comments. Van is just about ready to be buffed. Was sanded to 3500 grit (blocked by hand with 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 then DA for 3500). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it looks that good in primer it’s going to look great in paint. Can wait to see it. Great work as usual Don. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for following along and the compliments! Sprayed the final clear on the roof today. Used a Devilbiss Tekna Pro lite gun I picked up for the first time. Will take some more getting used too but feels like cheating compared to my old conventional SATAs. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Chopped 55 f100

On this project I have been experimenting with using a Loctite spray adhesive similar to 3M 77. Apply a lite coat, let it sit for a while then apply it. Feels about like a tack rag. Still have to use tape to hold the weight of the lace but the tackiness keeps the lace from moving around. Prior...

Thanks Don that really means a lot coming from you. I am thinking about going to the West Coast Kustoms show in Santa Maria that is the end of May. Lace has its place and I agree it’s not on your corvette. It’s also addicting so don’t try it if your weak! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
