    Multi meter needed

There is absolutely no reason to purchase a fluke meter for your application. As a matter of fact you can usually go to a local Autozone/Oreilly and borrow a multimeter. If you plan to purchase a multimeter then get the least expensive unit that offers the autoranging feature. This is extremely...

    Attention: HF multifunction tool users

There is a newer version of this tool which is variable speed, much faster than 11k opm (somewhere between 19K and 21k opm top speed IIRC) and grey in color IIRC. Maybe they are using that motor/gearbox in newer versions of the red unit (just a guess).

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

t100: If you can find a radio shack 22-168A meter I would suggest that you purchase it. It will be very inexpensive to purchase these days ($10 to $30 maybe?). Here is what it looks like: http://www.oddmix.com/elec/elt_rs_22168a_dmm.html IMO, this is probably all the meter you will ever need...

    Impact Screwdrivers?

A very good app for an impact screwdriver ime is when someone uses the wrong size philips on a screw and the screw is rounded enough for a normal screwdriver to not be able to loosen it...the impact usually works if the screw is not totally destroyed.

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

I missed this one...I assumed that the unit would be unplugged and the resistance setting on the meter would be used, hence isolating the computer from the test. We all know what assuming does.... :)

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

No argument here :). Definitely is a better solution if you have the bargraph.

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

This is one of those situations I was referring to where a cheapy analog might be a better tool than a cheapy digital.

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

I have years of experience with the fluke scopemeter. I suggest that a tech not purchase this for automotive use unless it sits on a bench most of the time. It is large and heavy and very expensive for this application. Also, if someone is trying to master a multimeter he has no business using a...

School me on digital multimeters, $10 C'man vs. $150 Fluke

Hi All: For just about anything 99% of people use hand held meters for, a $10 digital will be good enough if you know how to use it. Heck, for some applications a cheap analog is the better meter. If you can get a protective boot for your meter then stick with the cheapy. As mentioned above...

    Advice on air filtering

This is what I found at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TRQQ02/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I see that the inlet size is 1/2". What is the outlet size? It seems that I can paint with this unit as well. Sounds like the ticket! Kevin Edit: Found the info. THANKS for the help. I shall order this...

    Advice on air filtering

Thanks mossyboy6. Yeah, I know it is a very long post. I wanted to be sure that I was very detailed. Apparently too much of a good thing :). The issue is that I do not know what nicest is for stuff like this. Say for a max of $100 if I can get good stuff for that price. Is the husky stuff junk...

    Advice on air filtering

Hi All: I own a black max compressor with the following claimed specifications: 3hp, 22 gallon, 120psi, 8.6cfm @ 40psi (don't know the cfm at 90 psi but not too important). I also have a CH 50ft 3/8" blue PVC hose/auto retracting reel combo. Today I bought a 3/8" husky high flow air filter...
