Above 1200 Sq/FT NealinCA's Lifetime Hot Rod Hobby Shop Build - 30x60 Plus

Agreed on the door. It's usually open when I am in the shop so I don't see the back side, but I did notice how dirty it was after I posted the picture. I will at least clean it, and maybe add a vertical sign.

Got my great grandfather's CA license plate collection hung up. Begins at 1914 up through the 1960's. My dad mounted them on barn wood frames and had them displayed in his shop. It is per his wishes that they are now displayed in my shop. I added a few 1932 Ford grilles to fill out the space...

It's a fabricated sheet metal box that I made up and painted red to match, with an under cabinet LED 40" strip light mounted. I had the shop that made the SS counter top make the brushed SS trim piece for the front of the light box...

We finished up the top of the wall with R-6 1" rigid foam insulation. Painted the white side with satin white to cover the writing and then taped the seams with this. I am happy with the way it turned out...and there will be signs and artifacts hung up there, so it will be more of a...

    Show off your vintage lathe.

A few lathes that I've owned 1936 South Bend 9" was my first. My brother painted a trailer in trade for it, back in the early 90's. And this was in a rented garage, before I had an air compressor, so it was all painted with a brush. I cleaned and painted it and built the cabinet stand. The...

The spindle, handle, horse shoe washer and end cap have been polished and chrome plated. I was sending parts off for plating for one of my car projects, so included these at the time. The vise castings were ground smooth and powder coated. The aluminum jaws were in the vise when I bought it, I...

Thanks, it was a long time coming. I had worked out of this old Craftsman box since high school And had over flowed to the bins in front This new set up makes it a little easier to find my tools, albeit a 40+ year accumulation of mismatched pieces. The 3 center cabinets are HF US General...

Thanks! The car was wiped down with Aervoe All-4 penetrating oil/rust preventative. It does a great job on bare metal, especially in our relatively dry climate. I only needed to reapply every 6 months or so and it is easily removed with wax and grease remover. The car is currently torn apart for...
