Harbor Freight Motorcycle Lift Hydraulic Pump Leak - Parts Needed - Ideas?

I purchased a motorcycle lift table for work many years ago to build a lifting workbench for wiring up classroom lecterns. I bolted on a piece of 3/4 4x8 ply and put some 1”x2” wood rails around the edges and carpeted it. Also cut out around the foot pump and release area. But we could put 3...

    Weed wackers

I have the M18 chainsaw. I’m not a lumberjack, just a home owner that trims small branches once every two years or has to cut up a dead tree once every three to ten years. Perfect for my needs. I have Dads old Husky that needs a carb. I just don’t have a need to get it going again. I should...

How to hold this lawn striper up. AKA, The most GJ-appropriate question ever!

Good lord! Overkill much? Hustler sells a rubber flap, yea, like a mud flap that attaches to the back of the deck. But I guess if your yard isn’t perfectly level it wouldn’t work like yours will. I have Centipede grass, so having a striper wouldn’t do me any good anyway. I’ll settle for a...

    Weed wackers

Just my M18 12 amp battery for my blower, string trimmer and hedge clippers was over $200. My edger is Ryobi. Much cheaper alternative and lighter weight. It’s been fantastic doing about 800’ of edging when I mow. My heavy gas attachment edger was killing my back. OP, check into the Ryobi...

    Insurance companies mandating home upgrades

They don’t use Google Earth. There’s actually a satellite image website for roofers and insurance companies that show a much closer image. My contractor for my new roof used it 9 years ago to measure sq. footage for the new roof. We’re shopping auto insurance right now. Been with GEICO for...

Exhaust fan for small (micro) shop

Not in my garage, but I built a paint booth for my models. Uses a squirrel cage fan from Grainger. It vents through a 4” pipe to a window where I built a drop in panel with a dryer duct exit mounted on it. Maybe something similar you could make for your needs?

She went and cracked the sink!

Yep, did the same thing a year after remodeling out bathroom. Dual sink vanity. Wife’s side has a short wall she like to keep a heavy *** candle in a glass jar sitting on top of. About 20” above the sink. Candle got bumped in the middle of the night going to the bathroom and went through the...

    Airline trolley conversion

Notice I didn’t put guns, just gun parts/accessories. Not required for us, but I’m a firm believer in using safes for firearms. Now my ammo fort is stacked deep in the garage. Do y’all have to store ammo in safes/vaults too?

    Milwaukee and Dewalt air horns?

Stumbled across these last night on eBay. Obviously someone is putting these together from parts/pieces and not made by the tool companies. Anyone got any insight on these? I’m thinking one with a set of Dixie or La Cucaracha would be handy for entertainment. eBay link

    Building inspector never showed.

I’ll go one better. I live on a lake owned by a power company. For obvious reasons any dock has to be permitted, inspected and gets a permit plate to attach to the front of the dock. Modifications are being done on the dam due to adding flood gates so the lake has been lowered about 5’ below...

    Thankful to be a DYI'er

Last time I called a plumber almost 2 years ago when my CPVC T fitting cracked in a tight location I couldn’t reach. If I had repaired it myself I wouldn’t have discovered my pressure regulator at the street was bad. I think I paid him around $200. Good money to find the actual symptom and not...
