I find lots of Witherby chisels in my neck of the woods (Western NY). Very high quality and great steel. That’s a great looking example.

Morakniv makes great knives. I have one in every tackle bag and several on the boat. They are great and affordable.

I ABSOLUTELY hate stories of resellers that take advantage of people who don’t know what they have. Most of the time, the sellers are liquidating after a death or some other major event; they’re often vulnerable. I’m enough of a a__hole that I’ll intervene, particularly if the low-balling is...

I picked up the same light. I’ve been impressed.

As others have said … all of the above. As for me, I grew up in the home of Crescent, Danielson, Matco, etc. I buy to preserve and prevent useful tools from going to scrap!! I don’t buy to resell or as an investment … it’s a ‘thrill of the hunt’ type of thing and I enjoy completing sets, etc.

Great find and I appreciate the preservation philosophy. I know a lot of folks don’t agree with me, but I don’t mind engravings on the old treasures I find. I think it’s part of the tool’s story!!

I will also have to respectfully decline. We’re in the midst of a few life transitions and it’s becoming an ever increasing time drain. While I check the thread everyday, I haven’t been actively posting or hitting sales. Good luck to the eventual ‘winner.’

Wow, that’s a nice gift. I love those vintage Matco boxes. Most were made at the plant in my hometown in Lakewood, NY. Love it!! BTW, ToolBoxTour recently visited the Matco toolbox plant and made an excellent video of the design and manufacturing process.

🤣 I hear ya, but this TBT video is worth the watch. The best part - among many great parts - is Tim’s discussion of some of his mid-90’s diagnostic equipment and OEM Porsche tools. Lots of ‘wow moments’ in that video!!

Finally got around to watching the ToolBox Tour … simply awesome!!!
