Garage Rebuild - It's not a barn, but it'll do.

Glad to see the added GFCI! Your shop is really starting to look good, I love the color scheme.

Railroad track: What have you made with it?

Where are good places to source this? I've been watching for a piece of it for a long time to make a small anvil out of.

    Proper Grounding?

Could be a couple of things, yes if metal shielded cable goes back to the box than maybe you are alright. Here in MI shielded cable is not required so every wire would have a ground. Could be the tester, it might have the red light burned out. Tester rule is: use it on a known good circuit...

    Proper Grounding?

In short NO! You should either run a new circuit back to the main panel that includes a ground (providing your panel has a proper ground)which is the better option, or at minimum you need a GFCI protected plug. Best option is both. It would be normal for your ground to have continuity with...

Garage Rebuild - It's not a barn, but it'll do.

1st, great job with SketchUp, it really helps prevent the ready-FIRE-aim syndrome in garage renovations. Being a fellow small workspace guy I appreciate the struggles you have. 2nd, 1+ on drywall dust, that has to be my all time least favorite task. I'm very interested to see the finished...

    Setting up air dryer/filters

Here is maybe a dumb question, I'm assuming you would want a filter on the secondary side of the media correct? I'm guessing potential media dust in my impact wrench would probably do a lot more damage than moisture would. I have not worked with the desiccant products before but I'm thinking...

    Craftsman Snowblower raised from ashes

Very nice job on the rebuild! +1 on the Sears parts. I've had decent luck by doing a little research and figuring out who built it for Sears and then go there for parts to save a little. The nice part about Sears is they have or can usually quickly get just about any part...but you pay for that.

At what age do you think you'll be done buying tools?

Is it possible to get every tool before you die? :headscrat It's part of the challenge to try, but I never figured I'd be able to afford it with just 70-80 years to get it done :)

    Building fastener inventory?

I purchased a bin set almost identical to what you show at HF, I used a combination of farm supply stores and big box stores to fill it. I've used Fastenal and places like that to get stuff, sometimes they are better priced, sometimes not. Usually you have to take a large quantity of each item...

    tool list

Don't forget the drill and drill press! I got a Makita set with cordless hammer drill and the impact driver earlier this year. I almost can't believe the uses I have found for both. If you plan on drilling metal on any regular basis, a drill press is very handy
