I have an identical DP. I bought it in 1989 from a guy whose Dad bought it new. Very solid, well-made piece of machinery. I highly recommend it.

Also the number on the side, if I read it correctly is 101158 which is an alternate model number for the 400S. About 65 pounds, good, solid vise.

Outlaw, That Wilton looks like a 400s, nice score. Pretty substantial stand too. Looks like the slide on that reed doubled as an anvil for someone. The slide on this new 4c has some scars too. Adds character I guess. You've had a good run!

:willy_nil I finally found a monster worth keeping! I picked up this little gem today...... It's a Reed 4C and it's got a few battle scars and a little weld splatter but other than that, it's in beautiful shape! The guy I bought it from told me he was sure it weighed almost a hundred pounds...

I own and use one identical to that one. It is a fine little drill press. I've had it for about 20 years and I bought it from the original owner. I've got my eye on a 150 now but it needs some serious refurb. and the guy is not budging on the price....yet.

I recently sold one for $60. The guy never even tried to talk me down!

Thanks Matthew. I'm still stumped about how the plunger Is attached to the pin. I can't get the plunger to move up or down. I can't turn it either. I will keep working on it.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but can you tell me what the internal workings are on that swivel lock pin? I understand there's a spring in there and you have to pull up on the locking handle or disk. Trouble is, mine doesn't have anything on top of that pin so I can't pull it (it's rusted...

The jaws are 4 1/2". I didn't weigh it but I'd guesstimate 50+ pounds. I enjoyed working on it!
