Can some one look at my welds please?

If there's any gap, it makes no difference how good someone is at welding, the cage is worthless. I agree with prophyre... The only way to fix this cage is to throw it away. Sorry it sounds harsh... your life isn't worth being stubborn over a cage.

Do you change your own oil in all vehicles?

IS300 goes to the dealer where I pay way more than I should for a synth oil change every 5K ($45)... it's a write off, so it balances out. Tundra goes to the dealer every 3500 miles for a free oil change. 4Runner gets changed rarely since it gets ~10 miles/year... so I do it myself with the...

Geez... :headshake do that and you're going to invite it on everyone who owns a parts washer... The OP should defend himself and leave the other guy OUT OF IT.

Falsely accused of running a business, may need to remove hoist – Help!

I have no dog in this fight... i can also guarantee that one of my neighbors WILL be pissed if I ever fire up the air compressor or grinder. having said that, the neighbors legal history and day job has NOTHING to do with the issue. Don't be so quick to judge. What I've read thus far is that...

    Wood stove problem...

Excellent point - Clothes dryer was (and is) running at the time. Saw waht I could see thus far - it's definitely not in the stove, though I'd need a flexible camera to see everything. Good advice! Thanks Looking into it now! Appreciate the info! As a point of info, and to further...

    Wood stove problem...

More house related than garage, but... Lopi insert installed two months ago. Quality, qualified installer did a great job. New Flue, Flue off-set, used stove that was looked over by the installer (who sells this stove). Finally got around to building hearth on Thursday. Threw up some Dur-Rock...

    Organize my garage....

Spent a lot of time working on the garage today, trying to get everything to fit... and I did pretty well. Have to get rid of a couple of things that I don't need anymore, but overall, I think it looks good. Might even be able to go get some more of my tools out of storage. :D Threw the...

    Organize my garage....

THAT is pretty damned cool! The deck is incredibly heavy, so I admit I'd have to use the bucket to get it into that position! Fits very well under the 4Runner, so I think i'll save my back. :D

    Organize my garage....

This is a coooooooool tool! Thanks! Played around with it a bit last night - had to do a 24x24 since it wouldn't handle a 26' length. Was hoping to get going today, but my buddy's daughter turned 7 and there's a problem with the 4runner, so I couldn't get it moved.... so tomorrow.. MiniVan...

    Organize my garage....

Thanks - I'll check it out. I don't have an HOA, and I'm not whining about it. I do have (unenforced) covenants and I respect that my neighbors a) have a lot of investments in their houses and b) that I really have no place on my property that a neighbor can't see due to lack of trees. So I do...

    Organize my garage....

Some good ideas! thanks! Graph paper will get a start ths weekend. I have no real area above garage door - maybe 6" or so I don't expect it to be usable with everything in there - good call in pointing that out, though. I expect to be able to negotiate in and out of the car, get the...

    Organize my garage....

technically, I'm not allowed to even have my car trailer outside. Seriously! :lol_hitti I've never had a problem and my neighbors have been great, but I only have a small number of decent sized cedars to try and hide things in. And since I'm on a hill, everyone in the neighborhood can see my...

    Organize my garage....

Unfortunately, that's not possible in this neighborhood. And I'm kind of **** about the tractor - too much invested to ke ep it outside.

    Organize my garage....

Okay... so I need someone with mad organization skills (I should call Bruce!)... I have a 24x26' garage with a 3'x8' area for steps into the basement. I have the following - all of which needs to fit into the garage and still be usable. 4Runner Lexus IS John Deere 2305 - with either the...

    Building too seriously

Personally, I think the OP is correct in many ways. And it's interesting to see how many people are taking his perspective as personal attacks.

Lift options for less than 4" thick pad

Not sure why you "need" a lift for working on the sami... I've done a number of solid axle swaps on toyota's, lift kit installs, and the like with only a 2.5 ton jack and a few jack stands... A lift might be more convenient, but definitely not necessary... Though there were times...
