Speaking about bike tools....when I went out to an estate sale the other weekend, buying a bicycle was the furthest thing from my mind. I thought I'd check on the last day of the sale to see if some Indian artifacts were still around. A guy was already fondling them just as I got to the table...

The value on ebay for that No.6 jumps around more than crypto.

Here's the rest of the stuff I got with that cool cobbler's hammer. Some really nice bits for my toolbox, and a nice set of Snap-On crowsfeet to sell to cover costs and gas.

Good eye! Now that I knew what to search for on ebay, most of the hammers with similar shape are offered by a seller in Bulgaria!

Thanks to GJ I now know this is a cobblers hammer. Shape is very similar to German ones offered on ebay. Nice blacksmith punch.

My worst ailment is lack of self control. I thought it would get better over time with experience but it seems to disappear once I step foot into a garage.

Went to a machine shop liquidation. So big that even 30 guys hardly made a dent. I'm trying to exercise more self control but here's what I got: A few Plombs, one Snap-On wrench, brass Schrader tire gauge, giant hammer wrench, 2 old old Walden Worcester wrenches, an adjustable magnet gizmo...

Whether at an estate sale, garage sale, flea, swap meet, don't ever pass on one of these. The longer one is even rarer and way more valuable.

I probably skipped over these 100 times over the years but it finally occurred to me to pick up an old vintage electric clock. Those #$&!?>!! battery clocks from IKEA etc. are cheap and only last a year or so. Just got this nice GE clock. It worked in some kitchen for the past 50 years and...

That is the frustrating thing. To buy a lot of this stuff new is real $$ but we are looking for someone that will buy the entire lot and you have to give him a substantial discount to take the whole lot. Getting these lots ready for sale on ebay.

I am in the exact same position after buying an old Gerstner oak chest with machine tools. What I've done in the past is put it as a lot of assorted tools on ebay. Find another like listing and duplicate it's category and modify the listing as needed. I start them at .99 and charge a flat box...
