    Tractor Supply impacts

Tractor Supply has a 3/4 impact on sale for $99. I got one last week just to try it out, and man that thing is one bad mofo! Used it a few times this week on spindle nuts and a pitman arm, totally worth a hundred bucks. If it lasts a year or two I figure its worth that much. Just figured I'd...

Advantage of A Pass Thru Ratchet/Socket??

Maybe in a small kit or something? Like one to keep in the vehicle or some other application where space would be limited, where you could save space by having deep and short sockets condensed into just thru sockets. One of the techs at work used them almost exclusively for almost a year now...

    Wyotech or UTI?

What about skipping the 30k school bill and just trying really hard to find a job as a general service tech at a shop or dealership? You could make some money, not accumulate debt, decide wether or not this is something you wanna do, and if you bust *** be in a better position maing more money...

    Impact anvil

None of the guys will own up to breaking it. Which is kinda crappy it you ask me. I guess I'm gonna have to start locking my cart up before test drives now too.

    Impact anvil

So yesterday at work some douche' borrows my impact while I'm on a test drive and totally explodes the anvil on my IR231c. It looks like they tried to use it with a wollered out socket and chipped the corners of the anvil or something. Does anybody sell just the anvil? I cant find just an anvil...

I've been doing fair ammount of side work on my off time to finance building my personal shop. My personal vehicle is an old van I purchased from a church, Econoline lwb halfton. It has lots of room, but since I have a wife and 4 kids that I shuttle around from time to time, I dont want to...

    New guy needs help

Probably 95% of all work could be done with just wrenches, sockets, prybars and screwdrivers. Get some good wrenches and a nice socket set, long pattern is nice to have. Metric deffinatly metric. Dont skimp on either of these, ask for them for birthdays and christmas and graduation or whatever...

    service cart accessories

Matco had monster deal on service carts a few weeks back and I picked one up for a pretty good deal. I'm very happy with it for what it is, but its only a single drawer with locking top. I hear that all the "chrome leg" style carts are all made by Sunex, so would I be correct in assuming that...

    Starting tools

One thing you may soon realize, is you don't absolutely HAVE to have every tool on the truck. Many will make certain jobs easier, for maybe a little faster. Personally, I try to really verify the "must have" status of any tool before I sink the cash on it. 95% of you speed on the work you turn...

Snap On USA/marketing, we the techs, can do math...

You are really paying for the service as much as the tool from a truck. You have the tools brought to you, normally you salesman has actually used a tool before in their lifetime, not so at sears ect, and returns are simpler. Also payment plans are a huge bonus to new or financially burdened...

    Tool budgeting or buy whatever/whenever?

I work for a dealership so most of the "specialty tools" are provided but when I run across something I need and dont have/can't borrow I just order one from the parts house down the street. The tool trucks only come once a week and only the Matco guy is worth dealing with. The parts house can...

    HF 3/8 Metric Deep

They are pretty good. The color coded ones are kind of cheesy I think, but the coating wears off pretty quick, thankfully. They are a good buy.
