    Sale-Garage/Shop ect. Interlocking Floor Tiles.

You have any of these that are designed to go over carpet? I had found some before but didnt buy them when I should have. I`d like to use them in half of my office, since the typical under chair plastic thing keeps cracking from the deep carpet.

    WTB Greenfield taps & dies

:) I scored a super deal on ebay on a nearly complete set of Greenfield NF taps & dies up to 1 inch -with all the die stocks, and a nice vintage metal box. The die stocks alone are worth my winning bid! But, there are a couple missing taps & the 3/4" die is broken - 7/8" tap is broken - so i`m...

    WTB: Tap & Die Set

I am looking for a numerically large SAE tap & die set like the one below on ebay. Something spanning 9/16" to 1" and beyond. But at least to 1 inch. I would like it to include both taps & dies and both NC and NF threads. The set below is a perfect match, i`m just hoping to save a little...

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

Northern Tool: www.northerntool.com and someone on eBay both sell some inexpensive press brake tools that are used in a shop press. Both are made in the US, I have yet to find a foreign one. I have seen them in pictures online, people who have shops, etc and cannot figure out where theirs came from.

    Press Brake Project

Thanks & yeah, about 77 cents for the pair of springs - clearance from Tractor Supply. And then a little oxy/acetylene to cut the plates & some welding wire. I also bought the 3/8" cold rolled round stock for the bottom "die". I do have alot of improvements to make - beginning with new stock &...

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

Wow that is awesome, too bad he doesnt share any info about the lower die. I looked through the comments and found his thread - also doesnt show much. Here is the one I built last weekend: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40295 Forgot to update this thread about it.

    Press Brake Project

Thanks, I was surprised that the bend came out so close to 90 degrees. I was expecting issues with spring back & that very well may be the case with thicker material.

    Press Brake Project

I decided I will probably get extra 2x2" steel and make two or three dies, one for thin material and at least one more for thicker stuff. I am going to attempt to find a retired upper die from a large press, seems like it would make the most sense although I have not had any spring back issues...

    Press Brake Project

I am happy to report that it works! I didnt take any more progress pics as there isnt much to this project. This configuration bends 18 ga metal exactly as I expected it to. Has a nice tight radius and will make excellent patch panels for my Jeep. This brake was just a test however, and I will...

    Press Brake Project

Thanks for the info, I am unsure how to deal with the upper die at the moment, but i`ll find something. For the thin material i`m working on I can take care of the extra few degrees needed. I think a milling machine is going to be very important for this. :D

    Press Brake Project

Ok, so you guys win - I am in the middle of building rather than buying a small press brake. I have a pile of 3/8" scrap and picked up a piece of 3/8" solid square stock at Lowes tonight. So, i`ll keep this thread updated on progress and bend quality, etc - but for now here are a few *very*...

Good point - those linear bearings would be much smoother and less trial & error.

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

Thanks for the motivation.. and you are right. For the cost invested here I could purchase a harbor freight mini mill for slightly more with a 20% off coupon and have alot more fun building the brake. I already have a lathe and every single other tool needed to do this. Nice thing about building...

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

I did find a few nearby, failed to contact the seller thus far. Would be great if he answers his phone or email. Using my lathe I could make some nice tight fitting cylinders and pistons to keep everything aligned during the press - like the Northern tool has. Ideally I could attached the upper...

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

LOL, funny post. I considered making one but intend to bend some fairly thick material - wasn`t sure how it would hold up. Plus the upper die is alot less than a 90 degree angle so it can reach deep into the lower die. So, now you have me thinking about this. I`m competent as a fabricator but...

Wanted: Press Brake for Shop Press

I just picked up a shop press on craigslist largely because I wanted to run one of these: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_21896_21896 I would be thrilled to find a good used one that is collecting dust, especially since I don`t have a Northern Tool anywhere...

The Skil 18v Lithium-Ion Tool Set

I have this set, plus a cordless jigsaw. I have barely used most of the tools, but use the drill alot. I believe mine are the NiCad version, so that battery is barely useable, however the tools are fine. For any real work I have corded tools to use in place of any of these. I have found the...
