    Bendpak rbj-4500 Bridge Jack questions

Ok, I'll try, my front splitter is pretty low tho, pretty sure its lower than 3.75", which is the height of the bridge jack. Kicking myself for not asking the question, I wouldn't have ordered this had I known it sat so high above the lift deck.

    Bendpak rbj-4500 Bridge Jack questions

So I just got a Bendpak HD-7W lift with the rbj-4500 rolling bridge jack installed. I was a little shocked to see how high the bridge jack sits above the lift decks. I was expecting no more than 2" and it's closer to 4". I have serious doubts as to whether the car I plan to store on the lift...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Actually I'm quite happy with the 4 post. Most of the time I use the lift for storage, and a 4 post is much better for that. It also takes up less space on my garage and doesn't require concrete work to fit it. I made out just fine selling my old four post and am about to buy the Bendpak...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Update! I did order the bridge jack from my local distributor and picked it up a few months ago. It does work fine on my Direct Lift and made my life much easier. However, I just swapped SUV's with my wife, and her old SUV won't fit underneath my current lift. So I sold the lift yesterday and...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Yeah, I'd love to not have to wait a month for my local distributor to get them in stock, but it doesn't make sense for me to pay $150-250 in shipping if I don't have to...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Yet another question, anyone order from Derek Weaver Co? My local distributor won't have these in stock for at least another month. I can order it from Derek Weaver and looks like they'll deliver it to my house for $35. That seems awfully low for freight shipping? Or is it the cost of the...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Ray916MN, looks like the DirectLift4500 is like that, but the DirectLift3500 sits on the main deck and then has nylon blocks that slide on the decks. My jacking tray sits on the main decks. Dakota00, I'll try and post some pics of the lift tonight, my measurement between the two decks is just...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Unfortunately there's no way for meme to confirm whether the lift can take it or not. I don't know who made it. That Direct lift bridge jack looks like it sits on the main decks of the lift, should be any more force than I've already put on it with just my jack stands. Although please correct...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Another question about bridge jacks... Looks like that Direct lift bridge jack will lift 3500lbs about 18". Is that tall enough and enough capacity to lift an SUV off the deck?

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

Dakota00, I saw that direct bridge jack and thought it would work. I had a lift company out when I first got my lift and they told me I couldn't use a bridge jack. Maybe they were only talking about the bendpak ones tho. Good advice on checking the ultimate height of the top lock vs top...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

I do have a jacking tray for my lift now. What are the air operated jacks you're talking about? Also, there are hand operated bridge jacks? Do those easily lift an SUV? I mean, I'm a decently sized/strong guy, but I'm not a giant! LX Markham, in looking at that picture of the bridge jack...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

I was under the impression, after talking to the guy at ASEDEALS.COM, that I needed at least a 60 gallon, 5 hp compressor to run the bridge jack? Is that not the case? Right now I have a small air compressor, as I mostly use cordless electric impact tools now. My compressor is maybe a 12...

Another 2 post vs 4 post lift question...

So I currently have a 4 post hobby lift in my garage. Not sure the manufacturer, but I suspect its a Direct/Tuxedo lift, 8000lb capacity, standard height, so about 70" to the bottom of the deck. I've been wanting to change it out, as it can't accommodate a bridge jack and I'd like something...

    4 post lift decision

I'm in the market for a new 4 post lift. A few years ago I picked up a used hobby lift, probably a Direct or Tuxedo lift. It's worked out fine, but I'd like something that lifts higher, like 82" and has the ability to get a bridge jack. I was thinking about the Bendpak, but reading up on them...

Garage door/opener and lift clearance questions

Got the lift moved and put back together yesterday but broke a hydraulic fitting. This morning I had a new hose made and confirmed that I'd put the lift together properly as it works fine. Whew! Had another garage door guy come out and look at the opener this afternoon. He was confident that...

Garage door/opener and lift clearance questions

Gotcha John. Is that something that any garage door company can source? Is it a whole lot more expensive vs the smaller drums?

Garage door/opener and lift clearance questions

My ceiling is 13 1/2' and in that bay it's flat. I couldn't quite understand why the tracks couldn't go all the way to the top, then turn. He had a reason, but it seemed strange to me. I'm having another garage door company come out on Monday to give me a quote...

Garage door/opener and lift clearance questions

That's what I thought too, especially since I have the ceiling headroom. However I had a garage door company out yesterday evening and the highest he said he could get the door up without replacing it was 11.5'. Now is that really the case? Why would he say otherwise?

Garage door/opener and lift clearance questions

So I'm about to go get a used 4 post lift this Sunday. My garage is a 3 car garage with 3 single doors. Lift is going into my center bay where I have 13.5' floor to ceiling height. The lift will go up to a maximum of 75". I need to change over my garage door opener to a wall mounted one...
