Do you plan on having a lift? I have a 40x60 shop with a single 10x10 door at the gable end(snow country). I had to put my lift at the back of the shop so it didn't block the door. Two doors on the gable end would be ideal,
I have the narrow long lift and it is perfect for me as the wide lift would take up too much room. I have had my '79 F250 pickup on it with no problems but had to fold in the mirrors.
Be careful using vinegar on machined cast iron......I ruined a cylinder head leaving it in too long. It seems to attack the metal...
On steel it seems to work great, I have done several rusty wheels.
Guess it depends on how wet you get it.......I have drywall (painted) on my spray booth walls. It gets sprayed down with a hose regularly to clean. Been doing that for ten years, not even a bubble on the drywall.......
I would not hesitate to use drywall in a shop/garage.
I built an outside wood heater. The stove is 3x3x6 inside an enclosure made of concrete and metal. No boiler, air is circulated by a fan. Keeps my 40x60x12 nice and warm without the mess inside the shop. Been using this for 10 years or so....
TRW tool board, screwdrivers, punches, chisels. Good overall condition, not faded. Needs a good cleaning. $100 plus shipping cash or MO only. Reply by PM please.
What is the best way to get ALL of the water out? I need to store the pressure washer in an unheated shed. Don't want it to freeze and bust.
Suggestions?
Tape a furnace filter to the suction side of a box fan. Turn it on the lowest speed pointing away from work area.
You will be amazed at how much dust you catch.
Also remember, if the filter can catch that much dust....how much is going into your lungs? You are wearing a respirator, right?
I bought the hd9stx because it takes up less floor space. It is kinda narrow between the posts though. having the extra height is nice, but since I have 12' ceilings I can't use it on most vehicles. I really like the lift, but if I had the space I would get the wider one.
Add to the fact that the mills are all closed down or running at part capacity because of the economy and the lack of demand for building products. And because of the tree huggers filing a lawsuit every time a timber sale is proposed on public land. I live in the middle of timber country, yet...
I bought my hd9 STX from ASE a couple months ago. Very happy with the lift so far....
I have a 17 year old son and will be dealing with the college thing soon!
