    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

I am building a thein baffle to improve my dust collector separation, and needed to make the 4" intake duct tangent to the main housing. Rather than piece something together with plywood and PVC, I just fired up solidworks and printed exactly what I needed. I may upload this one, as it saves...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

Tube forming today. Needed some oval tubing, the closest size to ideal was astronomical to ship, so I decided to make some at as close to "ideal" as I could get. Printed these this afternoon: 2 walls, 50% infill. Built a box with oak scraps to contain them while they were printing. Clamp the...

Last night was the cutting jig for the intake runners. Works well as a clamp block in the evolution saw, too. Mark tube with sharpie, scribe line using the block. I'll grind/sand up to this line.

I put the 10" mark right on the tip, then measure with a tape. +/- 1/32 is going to be fine on these.

I'm starting to work on building an intake and headers for my straight eight Buick. I purchased plasma-cut flanges, but they are in multiple pieces. I needed a reasonably accurate way to measure center to center on the original parts, so I printed these guys. They'll work.

I couldn't find my metallic sharpies, or I would have used those on the dark blue one for sure. Hence the reason to print shop organization items!

I have a set of T-handle wrenches. They came in an odd rack that doesn't really work with any of my other tool storage. I decided to separate the sets (metric, SAE, torx), and make racks for them. Did them with a French cleat for hanging, but they will stand on their own as well. I also made the...

Thoughts on this Eastwood sheet metal brake

I call it the radius on the working end of the finger plus springback, myself. More than that would be an adjustment or tool wear issue.

Thoughts on this Eastwood sheet metal brake

You need the 36 then! https://www.diacro.com/equipment/model-36-finger-brake/ That 24 should do 16 at full width. Sometimes they are finicky to get adjusted, and I have seen worn fingers do weird things.

    Service manuals for a 1998 Chevy k2500?

I had the 4-volume service manual for my 1998 back in the day when you could buy them from GM (2003-ish). These days I purchase the CD versions as I have a PC and 32" monitor in the shop for reference. I see that they are available at Rock Auto for $23.99. They do also list the Detroit Iron...

This was the application that pushed me over the edge for getting a printer. Metalworking applications.

I just ordered a Centauri Carbon and a pile of filament as my first printer. I almost did the P1S with AMS, but came to the conclusion that I can learn on this one with single filaments. I'll watch for a tool changer if I look to upgrade in a year or two if I need multi-material.

Need a motor for my 56 Unisaw

Leeson makes motors with tabs for Unisaw mounting. Please, if your saw cabinet has the rounded hole like in the picture I posted above, do not hack up the cabinet to cobble a 56 frame motor into it. If it were my saw, I would find an original RI motor and have it rebuilt before I adapted one...

Need a motor for my 56 Unisaw

The Unisaw motors are special beasts because of the proprietary mounting tabs on the motor case.

Storing your Surface Conditioning Tool (SCT)

I currently have mine in a 24" tool bag, but will probably wall hang it as that looks to be a better solution for my needs.

Recommend an inexpensive 3D printer please.

I don't have one yet, but I have a couple of friends with Elegoo Centauri Carbon printers, and I am considering the same. DO any of you have experience with these units?

Label maker for heat shrink tube, reccomendations please.

I picked up the Dymo Rhino 4200 for this purpose earlier this year. Works well with cheap cartridges from amazon. I went with the 4200 because of the rechargeable battery. One of the electricians at work has a cheap "regular" dymo and simply runs heat shrink cartridges in it with decent results..

    Plasma cutter on Amazon

It uses AG60 consumables. I'm not worried about availability. I run mine without the standoff to get into tight spots. Works just fine.

    Plasma cutter on Amazon

I have an older version of the Bestarc BTC500dp. It has done everything I have asked of it thus far, including 5/8" thick cast iron in the base of my planer. I bought a big package of consumables at the same time. I had some machinery here last year that I salvaged a pile of tubing (3x6x1/4...
