    Let's Talk About Miter Saws

Hitachi owns Metabo, that doesn't make them the same saw. You're welcome to go look at pictures of both saws if you like. What does this have to do with the OP's question again?

    Let's Talk About Miter Saws

Yeah I googled metabo and ended up looking at a hitachi. Seems most are moving to some type of articulated arm or forward facing tubes. Even the Hercules... If you want portability don't buy a 12" sliding mitre saw, I have a non sliding 10" ryobi I can carry in one had and will cut most stuff...

    Let's Talk About Miter Saws

That is a nice saw for the price, the stand is a bonus and probably costs 200 new. Agree on the heavy comments but rolling it out on the stand will make that easy. The nice thing about this and the Hitachi's is that they use an articulated arm instead of slide tubes. This means you don't need...

This all started because of a Table Saw...

That island/extension on the right is brilliant. I was already planning an "L" shaped steevo style bench, this takes it to the next level. Is that about 4' square? The tool hutch of the table saw is nice as well, solid work!

Going to have our garage floor coated, polyaspartic. I don't think my old style jackstands should be used on it.

I have an epoxy full flake floor with two top coats of urethane. I drag stuff, run a forklift, jackstands, etc. No issues. Its not impervious to all damage. if you drag something sharp it will scrape the floor. If you go with flake it helps mask any scrapes.

How should I insulate the walls and seal up these gaps?

What is a "proper closure strip" here? Can you provide a link? His building has rat guard on the bottom like every pole barn I've seen. Its a pole barn not a turnkey house? Mine leaked light until I insulated it. I did not put caulk and would definitely not use steel wool, that **** will rust...

    Open Cell Spray Foam Garage/Shop?

Vented roof with spray foam on the roof deck? I have oc foam directly on the metal roof panels. One year later no issues. Didn't paint it either. No vents…

Who has a toilet in shop or at least a sink

Rented a bobcat this weekend and am out gluing my drain line today. This is arguably the most challenging project I've done on the shop because of a long run to the septic tank. I gave up space for a urinal to have a small closet for jackets, tyvek suits and a small electronics rack for a patch...

Question on interior wood wall and tin ceiling

I go 2x thickness of board. 1” board gets 2” nails. May be over kill. I was going to recommend galvanized self tapping screws. You will want longer than 1/4” if you have fasten on a rib.

    TV In Your Garage

interesting how talking about TV's generates replies trying to dictate what one should do in their workshop or garage... I have 5.1 surround sound in my shop and I'll be adding a tv to the mezzanine wall soon. Right now I'm just running a laptop for music.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT LilScorpion’s Fab Space

Shop is looking amazing, so is the house and location. Side note, I have a floor nearly identical to yours and an 800lb compressor still on the pallet. I bought some cheap furniture slides off amazon and pushed my compressor into its new room by myself. They worked surprisingly well if you have...

    Kushlan cement mixer

wow I was typing this while the others posted their experience. Maybe I stand corrected, have you guys that used them have more than a year or so on them? If they last it might be one of those items I'd consider buying and then selling after I don't need it.

    Kushlan cement mixer

I can't speak from experience but it doesn't look up to the job. 3/4hp motor, plastic drum... Just doesn't seem made for something like mixing concrete and $600 is a lot if it ends up dying after a season.

Rigid metal conduit through concrete wall

If you already have an SDS type hammer drill it wouldn't cost much to buy the bit and try. My experience is telling me it will be an endeavor for that size and depth. That said it will not be a walk in the park setting up a core drill if its horizontal. I think you have to use tapcons to hold it...

Rigid metal conduit through concrete wall

If I had to drill a 10"x1.5" hole, I would rent a core drill. 10" of solid concrete with an sds drill will turn your brain into mashed potatoes. I've only used a core drill once but it cut a 4" and 1.5" hole in reinforced concrete and it was amazingly easy.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Action Sports Garage

As a halloween aficionado I like your boy's shirt! The second pick I had to scroll back because I thought he was growing a mustache. Made me laugh. Man you are doing some killer stuff in your shop. The vice turned out great and it was fun to follow along. (y)
