I looked up the patent number and it is from 1938. I also checked the cman catalogs and could not find the number "5185" anywhere from 1938 to 42. The jaws measure about 3 and a half inches and weighs in at 37.6lbs.

Found this old craftsman at an auction. I waited over 3 and a half hours for it to come up, so of course it had to come home with me.

I think it was a good buy. A snap-on kr-58 with quite a few tools inside! $75 for the snap on box and another 5 for a little s & k set my boy wanted.

I ended up just saving and buying the best jack I could afford, and I must say I will never look back! Had a 3 ton craftsman and now have a 3 ton hein werner, total night and day difference in the two.

Just got back from the Evansville IN store. None of the gloss red in stock, but they did try and tell me that the gloss red was being phased out and the crinkle finish was the "newest" finish! I even showed her the hf website with the different item number and the "picture coming soon". I...

It does, but I found that it did not help much. The bit tracked along the tile depending on the direction I was going. Maybe I had the speed to high, idk. I just used that speed worked the best for me.

Ended up buying the dremel attachment, and an extra 1/8 inch bit, to make things go faster. It works so much better than hand sanding it out. Just have to be careful on the corners as the bit wants to grab and follow around the corners.

This is what I have been using a grout saw to clean out the joint. Tiles has been down for a couple of days now.

Thanks guys. I guess I better get to sanding! I always try to research stuff I have never done, before I do it, but seems like there is always some little detail I miss. Oh well, it won't be near as bad since I won't be going all the way to the concrete.

I put down about 230 sqft of tile on concrete. Some of the thin set squeezed up between the tiles. Do I have so sand that thin set all the way down to the concrete or just to the bottom of the tiles before I grout? I have sanded some all the way down and found this might take forever to do it all!

Activate the system? You mean just set the alarm? We do it all the time with ours. Had a complete system installed when we built our home so we can set all the systems. If it get tripped, the siren goes off in and out of the house. We would have to sign up for monitoring service to call out...
