My 80/20 rule 2 car garage.

The interlock I did half/half. I dug up all the asphalt and did all the prep, sourced the material and had everything setup. I planned to do it myself, but like everything else doing 1000 sq. ft. of driveway and walkway as a 1 man operation is very time consuming. Hired a crew that came to do...

My 80/20 rule 2 car garage.

I haven't welded in here yet. I decided on porcelain because I intend to keep the home indefinitely, I hope to do things once and never have to redo them again even if it costs more so other flooring options didn't seem to fit what I was looking for. I hope it lasts :)

My 80/20 rule 2 car garage.

25' x 17' + a small landing area in front of the entry door that's 3' x 4' for a total of 437 sq. ft. Originally it was 340 sq. ft. It's a noticeable improvement.

My 80/20 rule 2 car garage.

This will be my sleep deprived and half assed attempt at making a thread about my garage. Between finishing the tiling of the garage and helping my wife with our first kid (2 months old) I literally have nothing left in me in energy wise. I wasn’t going to do this, but I do want to take the...

Looking to cut out a foundation wall...

It's temporary (everything was ripped out to put in new insulation between garage and upstairs and to run extra wire. Everything will be sealed up with firerated sheetrock.

Looking to cut out a foundation wall...

Because he is mechanical engineer, so it's not his specialty and because there are a lot of smart people on here. I am also not disagreeing, I am pointing out that some comments made are not based on all info i've provided.

Looking to cut out a foundation wall...

Did you look at the videos? There is no load on the wall except the I beam in the garage. I've talked to an engineer friend and he said to cut 2 feet away from it. The wall isn't load bearing, but it is supporting the I beam that's loaded.

How would you retrofit this garage?

Just to update this thread, I finished the project. Didn't widen the driveway because it wouldn't be square to the garage door and optically it's not something i would be happy with.

Looking to cut out a foundation wall...

In the pursuit of making more space in my garage (small home problems) I want to take down 7 feet of a concrete wall behind which is a hallway. It doesn't seem that it's load bearing wall and common sense tells me this is straight forward, but i want some sort of reassurance. I live in a...

How would you retrofit this garage?

I don't plan to move it flush, it will be recessed the standard 6-8 inches back.

How would you retrofit this garage?

Not sure how putting the channel drains will change the slope of the driveway. Keep in mind the steepest part of the driveway is at the bottom where the drain is, it's like a basin. I want to raise the entire drain so that everything is level so the door can close flush with the driveway...

How would you retrofit this garage?

This is exactly the type of advice I am looking for. Can you elaborate more on the dry well solutions, I am not too familiar with that? Also, in terms of widening the driveway, why don't you think it will work with the house? it's all a work in progress as is, cutting the grass on the end...

How would you retrofit this garage?

As a long time lurker/reader of this forum I’ve decided to post here to try and generate some ideas on how to *correct* a few issues that I am currently faced with before I tackle my retrofit project. My garage right now is a 2 car 20’ deep x 17’ wide that’s technically inside my basement...
