    ordpete944's attached Florida garage

Good evening all. I finally have a few minutes to upload some pics. Originally had a double length single carport with a hurricane room in the back. Closed that in about 8 years ago and got rid of the hurricane room. After the kids, the garage became a guest room and my workshop area shrunk...

    Overhead power to garage....hard?

Permits aren't that expensive. You could start by downloading the local code book off the internet and see what the requirements are to feed the garage. I'm thinking underground service would be the cleanest install. Two mast heads would be susceptible to tree limbs and ice. You will be...

Oh ****. Don't get me thinking about another project. :) the current panel isfinished very nicely behind a hidden door with trim. I should change it out but already have a lot on my plate. Thank you all for the answers and explanations. I will inquire about the SER cable with the...

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

I have a ton of photos to upload to my computer to share with you guys. I have been using my phone for quick replies. Let's just say my phone is a less than adequate platform to do so. Auto correct gets the best of me often. I will update shortly.

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

http://codes.iccsafe.org/app/book/content/2014_Florida/Residential%20Code/Chapter%2036.html This is what i found for the service and feeder lines. chapter 37, table E3705.1 discusses branch circuits, which states 85 amps for 75 degree C rated wire for #4 cu. 90 C rated wire would be good up...

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

I referenced table 3603.1 of the Florida 2014 building code. I typed it wrong at 105 amps. It says feeder and service lines are good to 100 amps for #4 copper. Being right at the limit, i was going to go to the next size up. I am getting a separate ground bar as the code here requires a...

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

You aren't insulting. All my existing 220 breakers are single pole, but all i found at home depot when i went browsing All they had were double trip lever100 amp. I found no single single trip lever 220 volt breakers in 100 amp size. I guess i will hitting up the local electrical supply...

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

So I'm getting ready to do this. I read in the code book that is available online that 4 gauge copper THHN will feed 105 amps. Do i use a cb that uses two spaces and has one single flip lever with 100 marked on it or do i use a double pole 100 amp breaker that has 2 flip levers and says 100 on...

    Help, how do I remove....

A small pair of vice grip pliers if there is enough of a lip on the outside. Loosen it first by heating it up and then cooling it with a wet rag.

    Soffit Lights

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013UIG60Q/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I installed three of these in a 30 foot long wall. I am very happy with them and they put out a lot of soft light. Can't beat the price either.

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

Thank you for all the quick replies! The distance from the main panel to the garage sub panel will be 40 feet max. I was a little worried because I thought I read somewhere that you could only have 3 or 4 double space single breakers on each side of the main panel. I am thinking that I will not...

Do I already have too many doubles and wafers here to add another subpanel

Good morning all- Been a long time lurker here. I finally started a 24X 22 ft. attached block garage addition. I am doing it all myself except the concrete pouring. I have a friend that specializes in concrete, so he will be pouring the footers, filling the walls and pouring the floor. Footers...

Garage Door Install Damage, Check Me Here...

Do not send them a check. Have another painter fix it and then send them the bill for it or deduct it from the final amount. That's just shoddy work and there's no excuse for it.
