    New Age Bold good enough?

Yeah I did that specifically to get the most workspace possible, its definitely made a difference. I didn't use the lighting kit from Newage, that is an actual dual bulb 4ft T8 fixture from home depot that I made custom to fit underneath the upper cabinets along with a valance to direct the...

    Garage door security

You could have saved your $100! I did this exact fix with some mechanics wire... ******* the pull cord out of the way first, then wrapped some mechanics wire through the hole for the release mechanism up to the sliding portion of garage door carriage.. you can't pull it if you tried, plus...

    New Age Bold good enough?

I have a bold 10pc set and I'm very happy with it.. they're loaded right up and can handle a ton of weight. I do anything from working on lawn equipment, to woodworking and they have been great, I still put a rubber work mat down for heavy or sharp objects.. I still like the tops looking nice...

    Shed Question

Well these guys have your bases covered.. with my yard layout and the fact that I wanted to store anything from lawn equipment to lumber etc I went with concrete.. has an extra thick 3/4" crusher run base, this thing will last my lifetime!. Happy I spent the extra money. My build thread...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

Just to give a small update here for anyone interested: I've been in contact with the same person who sold me my camera system.. he's a retired police officer with over 12years experience dealing solely with burglaries ( he specializes in home security systems) this guy knows his stuff as he's...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I had a quick look at that system and I was pretty surprised at those reviews, and there were a lot of them!. Sounds like a pretty solid little system, and it looked nice to boot.

How many feel you're in a league of your own in your hood?

Geez, Talk about hitting the "Nail on the head" so to speak... Couldn't say it better myself!. My parents live a block over from me and have a neighbor who is "one of those people" he has someone come over for everything ( and I mean EVERYTHING) yes he and his wife are also very capable...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I'll check into this one either way, it sounds pretty nice to me. I'd likely self monitor the system since I already do with my cameras so it's really not a big deal in my opinion. Would be nice to arm certain areas and have others unarmed if you're using them.. I guess we can't be too picky...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I'm with you on that one.. one thing that system lacked was a good set of detailed instructions... I've been playing with the settings and have a decent grasp on it finally but am still learning some of the settings. The settings are going to be different for every application like lighting...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

Ring doorbell? Is there a camera in it? Don't think I'm aware of this product.. care to elaborate? I have cameras at all my doors, my garage lights run on a Leviton 7 day programmable timer as well as my side door. ( which is a great product btw). I'd have to agree the big dog is likely the best...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

You make some good points, I should have sated that I do live just on the edge of town and have neighbors on either side of me. I have read both about silent alarms and the use of an audible alarm. I'd definitely like to catch them in the act but I do have cameras which will catch a face...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

Thats pretty unfortunate with a monitored system... however I do agree with that statement as I've had a similar experience in the past where I was able to dial and have a paramedic on the way before the alert company did. I unsubscribed from the service the next day. My system is all POE, I...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I find it really odd that they wouldn't simply (expand) your current system to include an outbuilding?! That seems to me like they simply wanted more money. Your system is more along the lines of what I'm looking at from what I read in the link. That covers most of the bases from what I can...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

I did have a look on here, found a couple of threads which touched base on the topic, along with another forum and some good old google. It answered some of my questions but I'm always interested to hear from the individuals who have had systems installed and in use for several years.. any...

Home security system DIY or go with the pros

Wasn't overly sure where to put this, but I feel it ties into building your home/shop since most of us try and stay one step ahead of criminals these days. I recently had a really nice Hikvision 8ch NVR system installed which has just recently been used in a police investigation in my...

    How about a landscaping thread

I should gave been slightly more specific Drives. I had first planned on a fence very similar to what you posted actually, but because my house sits next to a un lit public walkway its at times a magnet for the little **** head highschool kids to come through at 3am to go to the "un official"...

    How about a landscaping thread

I'm curious to know if anyone on here has either used or heard of SimTek fence? www.simtekfence.com They're based out of Orem Utah I believe. Home Depot in the states sells the product also but here in Canada they don't carry it. I found out yesterday that we now have a local fence...
