    The Tax Ferry Came

I always thought you needed to increase your dependants on your W4 to increase your monthly income and reduce your tax returns (if any). :headscrat

    The Tax Ferry Came

Not sure if you are talking about above or below grade so this may not apply. If you are thinking you need to go through your concrete wall that is not neccessary. Do as a couple others have suggested and use large conduit. They make large end pieces with access covers that will allow you to go...

    Copper pipe for airline Question

Just asking a question here so don't flame me. How many people here have actually had their black/galv. pipe rust through in their home workshop application?

Replacing a fuel sending unit on a GMC truck

+1 I worked in GM dealers for 11 years and lifted the bed every time. Now those late model F bodies are another story. Can you say lower rear axle and remove complete rear exhaust? :headscrat Rich

    Flourescent Lights in 2-car

Thanx Rocco. I will probably spend the extra money and get the 5000 temp bulbs. I know your advise is greatly appreciated on this board and your offer of free lighting plans is outstanding. I haven't placed my fixtures yet so you may get a note from me in a week or 2 for some aditional advise...

    Flourescent Lights in 2-car

Rocco, I'm not trying to start anything here I'm just wanting to figure this out as I'm getting ready to buy bulbs in the next couple of weeks. :headscrat This was taken from a post back in August and the info conflicts with yours on color temp. "T-8s are more efficient to run and 4' bulbs...

    Large Drill Bits

I'm usually with you on this one but I needed the bits that day and the price for the complete set was less than one bit from Sears. I figured it was worth 20 bucks to give them a try. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how well they worked. Just as good as any other bit I've used as...

    2-post lift users, I got a question!

I have a 16ft wide door but the lift is positioned all the way to the left side. I was able to move my door opener to the right 4ft and that was just enough to get it out of the way. Not sure what your configuration is but this is an option and is acceptable by the manufacturer's installation...

    Large Drill Bits

+1 I just bought a set from them about a month ago. I was surprised at how well they worked. Deffinately go slow and use oil. Also start with a smaller size and bump up no more than 2 bit sizes at a time until you get to the size you want. Rich

    Re-Verber-Ray problem with quote

I don't know what your ceiling configuration is but, I would think you could get away with a 50,000 BTU unit 30ft. long. It would be most effective run straight down the middle of the shop. With 14ft ceilings it may need to be a bit bigger than 50,000 BTU. Like I said, my shop is 26 x 28 with...

Please Post Pictures of Painted OSB Interior Walls and Ceilings

If you have a test piece you may want to try and seal the surface with a thin coat of water based urethane before painting. That should keep the surface from lifting. Just a thought, Rich

    Re-Verber-Ray problem with quote

I have the Omega II from Combustion Research, here's the URL. http://www.combustionresearch.com/ I called the company directly (not one of their retailers) and the receptionist passed me on to someone that helped me out. It has been awhile but I believe his name was Daryl. My shop is 26 x 28...

    Lifting a garage and adding a lean-to

You're probably not considering this now but if you ever plan to put a lift in down the road I would raise the garage at least three foot. Most lifts require this clearance and most two posts require 12Ft. ceilings. It would be allot easier to do it now than decide that you want to raise it...

    Stone/ceramic Tile cracking/breaking?

I'm not sure how they did the cuts as I wasn't home the day they came back to button it up. They may have used a skill saw with a good masonery blade. If you get down and inspect them closely you can see that the cuts are not as deep where they intersect. The patio/drive has been in for two...

    Stone/ceramic Tile cracking/breaking?

Just some feedback on the stamped concrete: Do your homework and go look at some of the companies work. There is a big difference in appearance from a company that does stamped all the time to a concrete guy who dabbles in it. I'm sure you have a certain look in mind but the stone, rock and...

    Garage Door Track Change....

Just some food for thought. For those of you that have wide doors and the opener is in the way, most can be installed as much as 4 foot off center. This is dependent on your door being properly balanced and operating smoothly. If not you will have major binding problems. I did this with my...

What PSI do you use to test natural gas plumbing?

Thanx for all the replies guys. I just completed my compressed air plumbing and have a set-up for pressurizing the system that has a guage on it. I will pump it up and test with soapy water as recommended. That method worked for the air lines but I thought there may be something different...

What PSI do you use to test natural gas plumbing?

I'm planning on finishing off the lines to the garage heater this weekend and was wondering what pressure was appropriate for testing. As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Rich

? about thermostat hookup on a mr heater 75,000 propane garage heater

Gottcha, I figured there was probably a difference between the two. I know all about the house temp difference. We have a colonial and it is always too hot upstairs when it is comfy downstairs. Never thought of the two t-stat idea. I may need to give it some thought. Rich

? about thermostat hookup on a mr heater 75,000 propane garage heater

Junkman, I'm no HVAC expert so I may be interpreting the info wrong. I just picked up a radiant tube heater and the company offers two different t-stats. One is line voltage and the other is low voltage. The literature states that both can handle multiple burners. Maybe the radiant is different...
