Just got a Snap On CT8810!

GSteg- I didn't conduct any official, proper, torque tests. I just locked a 1/2" bolt in my voice then ran a lock nut down w my Matco air gun. The Matco consistently tightens to 220 ft/lbs on the 2nd notch. My CT4410 didn't even think about taking it off so I grabbed the CT8810 & it RIPPED it...

Just got a Snap On CT8810!

Sorry, can't post pics. The gun itself looks darn near identical to the 4410 w/ the exception of motor vents. Dimensionally it is the same also. Yes, it has the same microprocessor delay as the 7850.... takes some getting used to. I was extremely hesitant to purchase it due to it's $585 price...

Just got a Snap On CT8810!

Hey guys. I bought a Snap On CT4410 cordless 3/8" impact about 5 months ago & was never overly impressed w/ the nut busting tq (or lack thereof). So, my SO guy busted out the new CT8810 this week.... lithium ion powered..... I was hesitant until I finally got my hands on it. MEGA improvement...

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

So.... just a little report on how the SO 7850 compared to the Matco 1/2" cordless impact. I used both tools, side by side on the exact same fasteners, using the exact same socket (switched it from tool to tool). The Matco beat the SO in both taking off & putting on nuts & bolts. Battery...

    Need a new shop flashlight

I have a Blue Point 20 LED that I use for general lighting. Cost about $60 and is rechargable. It measures 5"x2 3/4"x1" thick, has a magnetic base & pivots to fit your lighting angle needs.

how often do you use flex or swivel sockets ?

They're the kind of tool that is worth their weight in gold when you really need them. I have 1/4" & 3/8" drive, both Matco impact & use them all the time. In a lot of cases I actually grab them before I grab a straight socket bc a lot what I do is close quarters.

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

Ya, I'm not sure how long it's been out.... maybe a yr??? IIRC the SO guy told me that the biggest difference is that the 7850 comes w/ lithium ion batteries as opposed to the NiCADs that come w/ the 6850.

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

I know my Matco & IR air guns will tq to 450+ in forward. Does anyone know any real world #s on the IR cordless?

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

That price is definately enticing. I'd like to get my hands on one to demo. I have a Matco air 1/2" at work... really like it. I have an IR 2135TImax at home & really like it too. I've had a few IRs over the yrs & haven't had any problems out of any of them which makes me think their...

Here's the link.... And like stated above, it's an older video, from '08, and it was the SO CT4850.

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

Not sure how long it took Matco. I have a SO 3/8" cordless & really like it but those matco #s don't lie (or maybe they do). As for warranty.... The SO has 1 yr on the tool, 2 yrs on the batteries. I think the Matco has 1 yr on tool & batteries. I guy that I work w/ has a 6850 & it performs...

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

That link compares the Snap On 7850 to the Matco 1/2" gun. Matco is up by 27 lb/ft in forward & 65 lb/ft in reverse. That kind of difference is the difference between getting the fastener off or not.

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

Interesting thread.... I'm currentyly in the market for a cordless 1/2" gun & have been researching Snap On, Matco & this IR. It boils down like this for me: #1 power #2 ergonomics #3 longevity #4 cost I came acrossed this test which appears to be independent On the flip side, there're all...

    Cutting and bending sheet metal

I know it's hard to do w the allure of China Freight's cheap prices, but try to buy the highest quality tools possible. Also, check out your local scrap yard for stock, mine actually stocks new material & it's way cheaper than Menards.

New to welding my 1st project welding cart

Looks good man. Not bad for a first project. I like the idea of getting your leads under control. IMO, do it now or it'll never get done once you start using it.

Congrats on the go fast parts man. They should help get your LX from point A to point B a little quicker. As for the overspray... dunno. I don't have any epoxy floor, but if I did, I'd be willing try mineral spirits on it. Might try acetone?? Maybe one of the epoxy guys will chime in.

Ha, I'd have to did through my boxes of OE stuff that never found their way back on to the car. I vaguely remember what it looks like. Man, the only OE parts under my hood are the PS pump, AC comp & timing cover. I'm sure I'll look back in 20 yrs & wish I'd left it stock. Yeah man, I feel...

See! Ha. Bryan- It's cool that you scored a fairly stock Fox.. that's hard to do in FL. They've all been cut up/modded pretty hard. And, as for the wheels, the bullitts do look good, they're just everywhere. It is hard to be original w a Fox. I got this car from a female owner. Heck, this is...
