Do you wear your wedding band?

I wear my wedding band under my shirt on a box style silver chain. I can't wear rings on my fingers because for some reason it makes my fingers go numb.

    car for kids suggestions

Get a mid 90's Toyota tercel. They are safe, reliable, get about 40MPG, easy to work on and you can get a good one for less than 3k. mileage is almost irrelevant in these cars too. A toyota if maintained even hallfway right will go 350k before needing a rebuild.

Speaking of vises... have you guys seen this yet?

I'll be the dissenter here and asay that I don't like it. Why? You don't have a good way of telling how much squeeze you are putting on the object in the vise. With a hand operated model you have feedback. Abe

Looking for a good alternative to Craftsman tools

I've had very good experiences with the taiwan made Stanley tools. For my weekend wrenching they have been every bit as good if not better than my craftsman tools.

Repair parts for a Lincoln Crackerbox?

Dan. Thanks for the idea. I think I'll use it. Old welders don't go for much here (I got this one for $100) so I don't think I'll try to resell it.

    craftsman made witworth tools ?

It's a shame that whitworth wasn't more widely adopted. Whithworth threads (on fasterners) are inherently stronger than either SAE or ISO threads. This is according to Carroll Smith's nuts, bolts, fasteners and plumbing handbook. Heavy reading but good info in there. My signature on some...

Repair parts for a Lincoln Crackerbox?

Thank you guys very much for your input. The dealer wants way too much ($128) for the part so instead of fixing up this old tombstone I'll just save my pennies and get a nice little 110v mig. The nmig will be more suitable for what I will be doing anyway.

    6 point vs 12 point

I have an old school lincoln 225 amp AC only crackerbox that the selector switch mechanism has gone out of. I've tried net searching for lincoln repair parts and all I get is stuff for engine driven and mig welders. Is there anywhere handy I can get a replacement part for this old thing...

which drill bit set that you know it is good??

Whatever brand you get skip on the cheesy, yellow titanium coated ones and go straight for the cobalt bits. 5 years after you buy them you'll be thinking "Damn I'm glad I spent the money on these". Abe

A make it yourself tool that is 1,000% awesomeness

Good input everyone. What I'm really exited about is that this marks the very beginning of the ability to do rapid prototyping and machining AT HOME. How awesome would it be to be able to draw something up on the pc.,send it to the printer and a couple hours later have a usable metal or...
